Borderlands. Hit or Miss?

I've seen many games with amazing potential just as thiis one but 60% of them flop in the end....Id like to hear otheres opinions and see what they say of why its gonna be awesome or absolute JUNK

I've got very high hopes for this one. All indications point to an outstanding game. I know the guys at my local Gamestop really well, and the manager there just went to a Gamestop Convention that was just held a few weekends ago in Las Vegas. He was able to try it out firsthand and said he really enjoyed it. I'll be picking up the PS3 version myself, but my son is getting it on his 360. Hehe, even though I can imagine some of the responses this next phrase will get, cross platform co-op would be awsome for it.

I've been following the game since the first trailer came out, though it looks good, im gonna wait for a review and lots of gameplay videos, dont want to repeat what happened with Left4dead.

this game looks x9873985624596874539 better than left for dead. awesome looking co op, great graphics, great looking humor because of the comic book-esqe graphics, good level system for a fps. if they are hoping to go for a fallout/diablo 2 mix with humor and unique graphics i'm DEFINITELY picking this up.

Big hit -- both in sales and reviews, I think. It'll be that big surprise that everyone embraces.

this game has a lot of potential. if done right(from what ive seen in tons of gameplay vids the devs have the right idea) it will be an Epic Adventure. i just cant wait for this game. looks awesome.

I'm totally looking foward to this. Its definitly going to be a hit. I dont think the story part of the game will be as indepth as fallout 3 though. But the action part will be awesome.

It's not just a hit, this is going to be a Grand Slam. Game of the Year material.

I have such high hopes for this one: AAA high hopes. We're gunna have to wait and see, though.

Hit ! Its like L4D and Fallout had a baby and inject it with steroids everyday. Except in BL when you're the black guy, or the girl, or the big guy, its because they have abilities.

Hit... The co-op will be more than Amazing.

There's still plenty that could go wrong, guys. Controls could feel 'off'. Hit detection could be bad. Missions could be repetitive and mind-numbing. The much hyped 'gajillion weapons' feature could be not nearly as exciting as it was made out to be. Could be glitches. Could be exploits that make the game way too easy.Save function could be frustrating. Inventory system could be badly thought out. Different classes could be unbalanced.

There's just so many things that can go wrong in a video game that wont be apparent by hearing the developers talk about it or seeing gameplay footage. As the OP said, there's been lots of games that have looked to have some incredible potential only to be ruined by some unforseen flaws.

I'm hoping as much as anybody that the game will be great, but I also know to not get too hyped over a new IP as it could just lead toa massive disappointment.

Game looks pretty sweet, still not sure about the MAJOR graphic style change but I kinda like it anyway, if it is anything like fallout 3 minus VATS then this game should be awesome, just don't make the gameplay feel bad lol :D

I'm preordering it next week when I go get my pre-order copy of ODST so we'll see how that goes.
