I loved the trial version of braid and am going to buy it soon possibily, but I have one question. It says in the gamespot review that it never gets old- does this mean that it has a lot of replay value? I'm just wondering since the game is supposed to be like 6 hours to totally complete it and I want to know if I'm just buying it for a one-time exxperience or something that will last. Thanks.

I can't imagine replaying it, once you figure out the puzzles you are kinda finished, unless you want to do a speed run or collect stars for an alternate ending.

I will say this, anyone who says they beat the game in 5 hours is a liar unless they had help with a puzzle of two, or three, or four...

I cheated on two of the puzzles and looked at the forums (was getting a little frustrated) and I spent almost 10-12 hours on the game.

The brilliant ending level alone is worth the $15 imo

Yep, you need to calculate in if you like to do speed runs. The first play through the puzzles are what drives the game, the second / third / fourth / etc times though the platforming take more of a front seat with the sequencing of the puzzles becoming the next thing to figure out. There also are some Stars to get that are even more difficult, painfully so in cases. And that can lengthen out the total time to play.

But for the most part when they say it 'never gets old' I think they refer more to the feeling that super mario world or SMB3 'never gets old'. It's one of those games that even though you know the puzzles, can be fun to visit and run through every so often. And the story is kind of fun to interpret and think about... But if you are looking for replay value in the sense of $ per hour of play time, this game will probably still be pretty costly, unless it becomes one of your favorite games of all time. But I thought it was worth it.

Braid cast a terrific first impression on me but as far as it never getting old... I dunno, I haven't completed it yet and I'm already kind of tired of it. I know I've spent longer than six hours on it, because I'm dumb and have come across a few puzzles that have me staring at the screen for 45 minutes before figuring them out, and a few I haven't figured out at all. But that goes back to my taste in games -- I personally don't enjoy being confused and not having any idea what to do. Unless you're good enough with puzzles to figure it out in a hurry, that is what you will come across in Braid, and that is why Braid has gotten on my nerves. I suspected it could be that way coming in, but I was very happy with the demo and gave it a chance anyway. At this point, I am leaning towards moving on immediately after finishing it, assuming I will figure out the remaining few puzzles I still have left. Coming into it I thought it would be something I'd want to try to get 200/200 gamerscore on and go after the speed run, but right now I'm not sure. That said, it is a quality game and I don't regret spending $15 on it. I don't regret supporting a game like this at all.

i've been going at it for about 3-4 hours now and im on world 4

I was talking to the desperados guy, anyway if you've played Castlevania: SOTN, Geometry Wars, Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords, Geo Wars 2, REZ HD, Boom Boom Rocket, Alien Hominid, N+, Streets of Rage 2, Contra or TMNT i just cant believe you still think this is the best, i know its all about opinions but the first 5 i mentioned beat the crap out of Braid, not bashing it or anything but its far from being the best.
