Bullet Witch - to buy or not to buy?

I have been considering buying Bullet Witch as I like the storyline concept.  The 5.5 rating here on GS has made me somewhat leary though as they tend to be pretty acurate with their ratings.

So - I was curious how many of you have actually played Bullet Witch and what your impressions are?

Rental. The game COULD have been cool, but it's not. The review was pretty spot-on. The controls are janky, the collision detection blows, the draw distance is horrid, there is no story and the levels are poorly laid-out.

Some find it fun so who-knows, you might like it; rent first.

Yeah I usually buy all the new games that come out if they look even mildly interesting - unfortunately the last two that at first appear interesting I've had to pass on because the reviews make them sound so god awful.

Bullet Witch being one and Earth Defense Force 2017 - being the other.

Oh well maybe I'll pick them up this summer when little is slated for release and maybe they'll have a price drop by then.  :)

Well looks like I'm the only one here who likes it. :?

It's a bit rough around the edges but toasting tanks with a gigantic lightning bolt never gets old imo.

Or sending a flock or ravens out on you enemy's and shooting them down while they helplessly try to get them off is fun no matter how many times I do it :P 

But it's really a game you should rent first, or at-least have a back up game you know you want you can exchange it for.

This game is definitely not for everybody.

If you can find it for $30 get it.

I really liked it. You can keep playing your same character over and over again. Because you can't get all the upgrades the first time through. Adds some replay value to it.

It is repetitive, until you can get new spells and guns. There is a budget feel to it... Because most of the time you fight 3 enemies over and over again. Flesh soldiers, walnut heads and tanks. The bosses are pretty easy.

I played it 3 times in a row. Easy, med and hard. So... You can take my word for it. :P

Did anyone else hear the Bullet Witch reference in the Red Vs. Blue Halo 3 Beta video?

 That made me grin.

I have seen and heard enough to know that there a plenty of better games out to save your money for.
