its definately worth buying. COD2 is alot better than COD3's multiplayer even though it cant hold as many people. the only thing i find better about COD3 is the singly player.
I guess I'll just add on to what everyone else said, yep.... COD2 is worth getting just for the single player alone; much better than COD3. Not sure about the multiplayer though. But at $19 cant beat that.
It has a better story than COD 3 but the online is terrible. 1. 4 a side. 2. No fixed spawnpoints (Random locations) 3. Small maps 4. No run feature (Makes for slow gameplay) All this makes for terrible, slow paced gameplay, where you could get shot from behind around every corner due to random spawn. And the member who said cod 2 has more people online, no, definitely not. buy cod 3 if you're looking for a online experience worth remembering, buy cod 2 if you're after a fantastic single player.
I have got the cod2 for 360 which i bought used for £5.00 and i'll tell you one thing, it is well worth the buy as the single player camapign is epic but the multiplayer still is quite promising as it includes unique features such as the killcam etc.
Where it lacks is the amount of people it can hold in an online match. Infinaty Ward restricted it to 8 but the guns are very good.
For online, no. For a campaign, heck yes. The online servers are a ghost town, your lucky if you find a match with more than three people in it. But the campaign is one of the best FPS campaigns out there.
