M4/M16 - Red Dot Sight, Silencers can be used as you get better, but it's still a toss up.
Bandolier/Frags
Stopping Power
Deep Impact for M16, Steady Aim for M4

Mp5/P90 -w/Silencer
Bandolier
UAV Jammer
Steady Aim

In my opinion this seems to be the best class in the entire game, it kills anything easily. Mp5 red dot/silencer. Bando. Stopping power. Steady aim.

I don't recommend this class. Overkill is a wasted perk.

Everyone's posting their favorite, but that doesn't help OP much if they have a different playing style than the one offering the advice. The best advice I can give you is to try out all the guns and find one you like. Try to get Marksman III challenges done with all the guns so you can get plenty of experience with each weapon and different attachments. Also, some perks to avoid: Double tap: If your gun has a really slow fire rate, this is ok, but with almost every gun you can get the same basic effect with stopping power. Less recoil, and you use less ammo. Juggernaut: This one's ok if you're a new player, but if you've started to get the hang of things I would swap this out for stopping power. Stopping power lets you kill faster, where juggernaut lets you live longer. I don't know about you, but I'd rather get more kills than less deaths. Basically what I'm saying here is you should always use stopping power.

it depends solely on your playstyle, do you prefer hardcore or normal. But if you only play WaW Hardcore, I can help you out: STG-44 with telescopic Bomb Squad Stopping power Second chance w/.357 magnum Frag Grenade.

Definitely agree with that. There's really no point in using someone else's class structure, since they likely play differently (and perhaps different modes) to you. Keep playing with different set-ups and you'll eventually find something you like.

I change my main class frequently, and I play Hardcore Headquarters almost all the time now. Currently, I'm into the G36C (w/ RDS) -- RPG, UAV Jammer, and Deep Impact.
