Call of Duty 5 Gamespot Review

Here's the review. It got an 8.5.

I won't be picking it up, I haven't enjoyed a war game in a long time.

I was expecting a 9 or higher, simply because of the hype asocciated with the game.  It seems that hype=good review from Gamespot lately.

I'm absolutely loving this game, the campaign, multiplayer, it's all great. Plus, the unlockable zombie mode is really fun to play with friends.

technically, numbered cod games are made by infinity ward. if you take into acount cod games like finest hour, and big red one, this would techinically be cod7 by your logic

yeah it is really annoying. because now infinity ward will have to call the next one cod6 because to many morons for forgot to name codwaw correctly.

It has nothing to do with the developer, it has to do with the fact that that's not the title of the game.

People used to think that you can buy pieces of paper and go to heaven. That certainly wasn't true. Not everything that people think is true. Why are they kids? It's not called COD5. It says on the box COD:WAW. You can't really use GOW as an example because those are what the name shortened looks like. Gears of war=GOW. Call of duty:World at war has no 5 in it.

So you'd rather have people give the wrong information out? Ok well GOW3 is coming out next month,Bethesda and Bioware are making an MMO,and the COD series is over after 6. There you go.

Like someone posted already, if every CoD was given a Number by numbs then this would be Cod7 already. It isn't CoD5! I laugh everytime I see someone write it. When I came across a topic with Cod5 in it for my first time, I was like "No way! World at War isn't even out yet!" But noooooo a bunch of mis-informed gamers started calling it #5. Its CodWaW. Whats wrong with a couple more key stroke. Get with it! Sure we all know by now that CoD5 might be WaW when someone is talking about it. Doesn't mean anything. The truth is that it's not Cod5.

I don't see why Gamespot didn't rate it a 9. I got the game two days ago and have already beaten the campaign and started on the multiplayer and it is a great game. It has the same multiplayer as Modern Warfare which is fantastic. The campaign is very solid, I like the added gore aswell...adds some more intensity to an already intense game.

Calling it CoD5 is laziness. CoD:WaW. End of discussion.

I don't care whatever stupid naming logic people have, if the developers don't call it CoD5, why do we? It's pretty much a diss to Treyarch that Activision wont let them name it the next in the series.

If it was Call of Duty 5 wouldn't it be called: Call of Duty 5: World at War?

I mean, they did the same with Call of Duty 4 by calling it COD4: Modern Warfare.

I don't like Gamespot's review for this game, their negatives for the game really don't make sense to. They dock the game because it has similar gameplay to every other COD game? No way wonder why? Especially considering the multiplayer action which is of course the biggest appeal of the game is the same engine as COD4 you know the game of the year last year and the most popular game played on Live for the last year. So yeah not really seeing why that is a bad thing, basically its COD4 but in WW2 times with WW2 guns and gameplay but at the same time it has enough differences and additions to make it its own ie much better gore, new weapons, co-op campaign up to 4 players, and new perks.

So again to dock the game for being to similar to game of the year COD4 is lame to me and certainly not worth a 1.5 docking but thats a typical GS review now a days it seems.

As for this not COD5 nonsense, I get it doesn't say it in the title so understandably it shouldn't be called COD5 but the only reason I do so is Activision has said Infinity Ward is making the next COD game which they referred it to COD6, whether it will be or not I don't but til I see otherwise World at War=COD5 to me

Well if this was systems war i'd say Gears but since this is the xbox 360 forums and God of war is an exclusive game there shouldn't be much mention of it.

This is the FIFTH entry in the MAIN COD series making it COD5. I'll be happy to bring in news articles, websites, and more to show you how many people refer to it as COD5. If you dont want to thats fines but WaW is COD5

Jeez people is it really that bloody imperative that it needs to be called COD WaW?When people say COD5 you know what there on about so stop complaining.

It was actually a decent review as most the ones from gamespot lately haven't been the most informative to say and Nazi Zombies looks awesome.

The next COD game being made by infinity ward is Call of Duty 6, which would insinuate that World at War is in fact Call of Duty 5. I can't speak for other retailers, but where I work (Blockbuster) the game exists in inventory under 'call of duty 5: world at war.' It's COD5 people, get over it.

That being said, it's a wonderful game that deserved a 9.

Thank you. I thought I was the only one being driven completely insane by this. It is NOT called CoD 5. It is called Call of Duty: World at War. Ever heard of Call of Duty: Finest Hour or Call of Duty: Roads to Victory? It is not the first Call of Duty game that does not have a number associated with it.

It IS COD5. Jesus people do some research instead of lookiung at a freaking box. Every single place you go other than your own little heads lists it as COD5. it is the fifth entry in the MAIN Call of Duty series. Finest Hour, Big Red One, and the others like it are not the main series. They are spin off games. Every major gaming website lists it as COD5, even IGN the website so many peple seem to be attracted to more than here now-a-days. So quit getting all anal about it when your the ones who are wrong.
