It doesnt say COD5 in the name so it wont be listed as such on their websites yes. But it is COD5 it is considered to be COD5. That is why Infinity Ward is working on COD6 and that is why there will never be a game with the title on the box that says Call of Duty 5. just as and I will give you as many websites, news articles, and whatever else I can find that all shows that it is refered to as COD5. What about this do younot understand. People like you keep coming into these forums and whining about people being right for once. If they were wrong i'd be behind you 100% but your not. Its not even an issue about opinion like it usually is here, for once there is a right and wrong answer.

Email activision or treyarch and get in touch with someone there and I guarentee you that they will tell you they consider it Call of Dut 5. Thats is how I found out and if you'd just get out of your big head for a while you could just as easily find out and stop letting something so stupid of a thing annoy you.

dude do you even think before you write or what. NO duh it doesnt have the 5 in the title, you'd have to be blind to not know that. But what your complaining about is that people call it call of duty 5 because they know it is and your getting upset because you cant see a 5. The Dark Knight didnt say Batman Begins 2 but im pretty sure we can all agree its a straight sequal to the MAIN rebooted franchise. I personally dont own the game, but my friend thinks it's great. COD:WAW has the same multiplayer than COD4, (exept it's in WW2) and the campaign seems fun.

No i didnt prove anything. No one, not even the cast or crew EVER refered to it as Batman Begins 2, but Activision HAS refered to WaW as COD5. Okay so you just conceded that a direct sequel does not in fact need to be numbered, yet you can't accept that World at War is Call of Duty 5? And HE'S the idiot? Boy, that's quite the conundrum.
I'll take back my last post on this board! I have done my research. (which I should have done before I even said anything!) World at War is CoD5 my friends! Check out COD6 here on GS. There is an article there that says someone from Activision did refer to the next game due out in 2009 as CoD6.Â
so... if I were to make a thread saying COD5 in it would people think I was talking about a game that doesn't exist? Everyone (except for a couple of "kids") call it CoD5, therefore it is in fact called COD5. It's like saying GOW isn't Gears of war cause it doesn't say GOW on the box...

People used to think that you can buy pieces of paper and go to heaven. That certainly wasn't true. Not everything that people think is true. Why are they kids? It's not called COD5. It says on the box COD:WAW. You can't really use GOW as an example because those are what the name shortened looks like. Gears of war=GOW. Call of duty:World at war has no 5 in it.
I thought GOW was God of War? Gee, thanks for clearing that up and making everything so much easier.
Familiar guns. WTF. Its a historical game. What should they put in it lasers. Hahahahaha. Also that game mecahnics thing is stupid dock it for having solid mechanics even though it is similar to COD 4. The WWII setting definately plays different than the Modern warefare setting.
