this mite sound crazy but i dont think world at war is "COD5" i think activision didnt want treyarch to developed the fifth game so instead of calling it Call of Duty 5: World at War, they left out the 5 so infinity ward can make another sweet cod game. Just a thought. im pretty sure theyve done this b4 w/ big red one. they prbly just finally realized how much treyarch sucked and that they werent worthy of making the "5th" game lol. iono. what do u guys think?

COD 3 was made in 11 months, theyve had over 2 years for world at war...so itll be great
actually you are correct that it is not COD5 because they took away the number so they could split modern warfare and world at war into two different divisions

stupid stupid stupid logic that people who hate Treyarch use all the time now...that's exactly what they wanted people to think too. Well whether its called CoD: WaW or CoD5: WaW its still CoD5. Just like because MGS is just called that as opposed to MGS1 doesn't mean its not the first MGS in the series. P.S. This game looks freakin amazing and their online looks like its gonna be awesome since they're picking up right where activision left off and building on it...can't wait.

Its possible. gta vice city and san andreas arent 4 and 5 and there are other games like that so maybe. But its looking pretty cool. im excited bout the pacific part.

I read in a GameInformer awhile back, before COD4 was released, that a couple staff members of the magazine went to Infinity Ward to play some of COD4. He said that he thought it was funny that there was a file on one of the programmers (or some one on the dev team) computer that said COD3. Meaning to Infinity Ward COD4 is actually COD3, because IW has only made 3 CODs. Maybe that's the confusion.
I'm glad some other people are excited for this like I am. I'm so sick of hearing people say "man this is going to suck so bad, it's going to be garbage compaired to COD4, blah blah blah." It's good to see some people are going to actually give this game a chance, instead of judging it so harshly before it's even out!
it uses the same engine from CoD 4, and they have made some upgrades to it so it has big chances to be cool, but really there are some modern shooters you can play, while WW II shooters are dissapearing
There was no way in hell I was going to buy World at War, but then I read the new article in OXM and it shed a whole new light. I actually now have high hopes for it. Also, the new James Bond game, Quantum of Solace, also made by Treyarch is looking very good.

I agree with you man. I'm tired of all the Treyarch bashing and I'm seriously looking forward to this game.
COD4 was a perfectly crafted game in terms of physics and gameplay and always was going to be difficult to beat, especially by a company who seem to be well behind with modern day technology and lack the creative skills to make a realistic game. On the other point I think treyarch may have not got the rights to create number 5 and were instead only given permission for a SPIN OFF maybe.

no its not, its because they stopped numbering them because they make them now every year and all games do it in the end when they know its going to get stupid. sounds better with a name at the end. or a year. than saying oh its cod5,6,7,7 coz its gona get daft calling it cod10 etc in future. has nothing to do with who is making the game or modern warfare. its just how they name them from now on. daft thinking anything otherwise. look at there other games, like guitar hereo, did 2, 3, then started to call them names instead of numbers coz they know how many they intend to pump out all the time. wouldnt suprise me if they did 2 games a year on cods in a year or two
It is CoD5, anyone who says otherwise is a dumb fanboy who is speaking out of their ass and not looking at the facts. It is CoD5 because it is the fifth regular entry into the Call of Duty series it doesn't matter how many total CoD games there are this is the fifth official one, I say official because the term canon would seem out of place for the material.
By official I mean that it is not one of the ported titles like Finest Hour and Big Red One as those are obviously not the "official" Call of Duty games. But World at War is an official CoD game, let alone shown by the support from Activision but the fact World at War actually did get it's own knock-off port entitled Final Fronts on the PS2. So that is why it is and will forever be the official Call of Duty 5. Don't even try to refute the evidence you'll just come off as a blind fanboy.
I'm sick of people whining about WWII. If you wanna play the game, play the game. If you don't, then don't piss and moan about it, because it won't change a thing. Complaining won't help.
