If it is Plug and Play, then yes you can. It says so in the manual and I've done it many times. The light is glowing red because its charging, it takes like 2 hours to fully charge.

You can both charge it through the pc usb, and use it on the pc (if you have the wireless controller adapter for pc). Link

Never tried, but you could probably charge it in the iPod wall adapter.mandrew913 Yes you can. You can charge it via the USB on your TiVo/cable box too. That's what I do because TiVo is always on.
