I want to transfer over some memory to my new hard drive that I got from my elite. I am using my old one but it is almost full. I want to separate my games. Put my RPG games on my new 120g b/c those take up the most room. I have so much achievements in Oblivion IV GOTY. I also want to download some more games. I have Fable 2 data I want to transfer over. If this is impossible let me know. If it is but you need to take a few steps can you link me to those steps?
er so youre asking if you can transfer things to another drive in the same way that you can (for instance) store stuff from a pc harddrive to an external for storage? no you cant. Dude if you've run out of room just delete installed games (and arcade games, you can re-download them again later) that you arent using. And about your coment bout oblivions acievements they (and any save file) do not take up much room at all nand plus the acheivements are saved on live's servers anyway (assuming you have live). You can however transfer saves from the HDD to a pc via a datel transfer kit but thats all
If you bought the 120GB as a retail version it should have included a transfer cable - if not you can go onto xbox.com and request one - they are free, but you may need to provide the serial number of the disk. That lets you do a one time data transfer of all the stuff on your 20GB HDD and copy it all onto the 120GB. You may not want everything transfered, but atleast you can then go about deleting the stuff you don't want. Another alternative is to use a memory unit as a transfer device, though you will be limited to 512MB as that is the size of the MU. Or for full games that you have bought via Marketplace you can redownload them to your new HDD.
With a transfer cable (call Microsoft for a free one), and xplorer360 (a free program for windows), you can definately back up files from your hard drive for free.
