or do you need to buy the HD DVD player thing. btw i dont have HD so i wont be watching ti on HD,

It's possible that he doesn't have a 360 yet. He's probably asking this question prior to buying it.

In what way? Ive took my normal dvd player away and just uses the 360 now for that because i was quite happy with the quality it brought.

You're not gonna break anything. :? It'll just give you a message saying that it can't read the disc if it's not compatible, as it is with all systems. A disc would only risk breaking the system if it was warped or something...

I Find it almost impossible to use my 360 as a DVD player. Even though I have the latest "Quitest" BenQ drive, it so noisy that I can hear the disc spinning no matter how loud I have my tv.

I just purchased an HD Drive since it's only 50 dollars, let's see how that goes.
