can u make your own gamerpics for ur xbox live account?

can u i tried yesterday i put some pics on the memory stick and it said i could only make it as my backround but the left 4 dead one looks nice :D but can u make it ur gamerpic i dont want to buy gamerpics its a waste of money

Good question my friend. It says right on there that you can but I havent gotten around to trying, and I have never seen anyone in matchmaking or on my friendlist that has a custom pic... But I wish, I would put something similar to my avatar pic on here on to my xbox =]
