Is the Xbox 360 like the old Xbox where you could save games without having to buy a hard drive or a memory card ?

I'm wondering because I don't want to spend extra money on memory cards.

Thanks in advance.

Ok here___

TO save games YES you need a Memory card or a hard Drive

Memory cards hold about 64 MB and the new one holds 512MB.

Hard Drive - 20 GB The New one holds 120 GB

TO download and save demos or videos from live and to play old xbox games, you need a Hard Drive. (Any)

If you buy an Xbox 360 alone with no special package or anything like normal does it already includes the hard drive ?

No, it doesn't come with any memory.  You NEED either a portable drive or a Hard Drive (I would highly recommend the 20gig hardrive that comes with the bundled Xbox360), or you can get the Core Xbox360 and buy the 20gig Hard Drive seperately.  You're better off just getting the bundled, since it's the same price as the Core Xbox360 +HardDrive (the bundled also comes with a headset and a wireless controller).

If you don't have any memory, you can't create a profile to store your saved games... so in other words you can still play games but not save your progress.  In addition, you won't have access to XboxLive as you need a profile to log in.

Those little 64mb cards a waste of money.  They are 2/3 the price of a 20gig hardrive, so you might as well as just get that.  Those little memory cards won't be able to store any game demos, and perhaps only 1 XBLArcade game.

Get over it and just get the hard drive.

If you buy a core system which is $300.00 you have to buy a memory card or hardrive seperately. If you buy premium which is $400.00, you get a 20 gig hardrive, and if you buy the elite which is $480.00, you get a 120 gig hardrive.(Note:If you want to play xbox live you have to have a hardrive, and if you like to download a bunch of demos and stuff i would get the elite.)

The price of the 360 Core + 20gig hardrive is $399.

The price of the 360 Bundle is $399 (comes with 20gig hardrive, wireless controller (worth  $50), Headset (worth $20) and HDTV Component cables (worth $40)

You're best off getting the $399 Bundle.  I saw at Costco the Gears of War Bundle, where it comes with all that + Gears of War, available ONLY at Costco.

The 64mb card is $40, but it's a waste of money.  You can't even save Castlevania SOTN onto it.  Trust me... just get the 20gig.

The Xbox Elite is a waste of money.  How  on earth do you guys fill up that much memory?  I use my Xbox to download movies, tv shows, store game saves, play music, etc... and I only used 10 gigs!
