I know it says you can use a credit card, but I was wondering if anyone knows if I can use my Visa Debit? I currently have 640 points and want to buy Perfect Dark XBLA for 800points this week, and I sure as hell don't want to go buy a 1600point $20 card when all I want is 160points so I can buy the HD remake of the greatest FPS of all time, so I plan on buying the fewest amount of points over Live which is 500. I'm not going to be able to try using my Debit over Live until tomorrow to see it if works, I'm wondering if anyone knows beforehand if I'm able to purchase it at all or if it's strictly credit cards only.

I would think your debit card should be a major credit card too. Debit but can also be used as credit. So it will say VISA or MasterCard on it. An atm card or bank card will probably not work though because its only for use at that bank and it's own atms.

i assume it would only be specific debit cards, the reason MS is more inclined to take a credit card is that banks dont run out of funds and credit cards have a limit. Its a lot safer to use a credit (in most instances) rather than a debit (especially if you have a lot of savings on the one card)

Any card with a Visa/Mastercard logo will work regardless of whether it's a debit card or credit card. It's against the card company's merchant terms of use to accept one and not the other as long as the transaction is processed as credit, which is what happens with XBOX.

Go buy a prepaid Mastercard / Visa gift card (can get them at 7-11). Once you get it go online so you can update the card with your address. Then it should work on Xboxlive. Can get them in $25, $50, $75, $100 etc.
