I raised an eyebrow at seeing the FAMAS and the AUG in a 1960's setting but really I didn't pay it much mind after that. Considering the events of the game complaining about the historical accuracy of JUST the guns is like complaining about one note being sour when the whole piano is out of tune...
[QUOTE="Black_Knight_00"]Since when are the french and the russian enemies?Angry_Bosmer
um always? they're NATO. They had a slice of Berlin after the war. They are as west as they get. and i really doubt that the russians would get their hands on a crate of FAMASes
I've only now seen your response, oh well, good thing someone bumped the thread. Russia and France have been at complete peace for almost two centuries: the last hostile interaction dates back to the napoleonic invasion of Russia of 1812. Besides, back in the 1970s the FAMAS was manufactured by the Sain-Etienne arms factory, which doesn't exclusively supply the french armed forcesThe only issues with this is the hordes of 12 year olds who now think these gun existed during the cold war/vietnam, and the kids who think what happened in the game actully happned in real life.

before you rabid fanboys start going off and saying "ZOMG ITZ JUSTT A GAEM", keep in mind that i think the game is very fun and am enjoying it. i just feel like nitpicking at the things in the game that annoy me historically,
i HATE the fact that they are use the fact that its "black ops" and "secret" just to get more modern guns into the game.
here are some examples of guns in the game that have no right being in it"
MP5K- although the MP5 was designed in 1964 and produced in 1966, the mp5k wasn; made until 1976. thats a good 8 or 9 years after the events of black ops. just because they were "secret special forces" doesn't mean that they can use weapons that didn't exist. and the government doesn't make guns secretly. private companies make guns and sell the rights to use to countries.
Steyr AUG- the gun wasn't designed until 1977 and wasn't produced until 1979. same thing as the mp5k just because they're black ops, doesn't mean that they can use guns that don't exist yet.
FAMAS- although the gun began design in 1967, around the same time as the game's events, the gun wasnt produced until 1975, but thats no my complaint on this gun. my complaint is that the soviet troops were using it. WTF?! the FAMAS is a french gun. why would the soviets be fielding a non existent weapon made by one of there enemies?!?!

discuss please.

Should we discuss how you have way too much time on your hands to fully research this, absolutely pathetic. By the way COD has never been realistic and no video game with ever come close to simulating shooting a gun, or combat in general join themilitary and find out for yourself. If the the Korean peninsula breaks out into full scale war you people might find out for yourselves with a general draft. Hopefully that's the case it's about time this generation earns it's freedoms.
Hahaha I love when people say that "ohh you have too much time on your hands." nonsense, he looked it up and just proved a point cry about it.[QUOTE="Englando_IV"][QUOTE="Vader993"]
you failed realize that they're black ops, they have access to classified weapons
No, he addressed that in his post, if you read it.then that vaguely explains why they have access to high tech weapons,no point in complaining
yep i remember seeing it in an interview since they were special forces they got acsses to prototype weapons some that were realeased a couple of years later and others that were never realaesed. Please Log In to post.
