From the information given out so far there doesn't seem to be on on the console version though on DS they said something along the lines of "survival mode."
I like being able to get a bunch of my friends together split screen and play games so it's disappointing that it's not 4 player, however I know that Infinity Ward played around with co-op campaign, realized that it wouldn't really fit their story and created special ops mode. They're putting a lot of thought into making this the best game that they can from what I can tell and I'm sure all of their decisions were well thought out.
