"Year-to-date 2005 numbers from the NPD group, which collects data from many of the game retailers in the US, shows that Call of Duty 2 managed to rake in more cash than Resident Evil 4 on Nintendo's GameCube, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas for the Xbox, and every single PC game released in 2005."

Proof that COD2 is the best game on XBOX 360, and imo deserved at least a 9.2/10 from Gamespot. And as for it outselling all PC games last year, is this the beginning of the end for PC gaming?.

That's mostly because alot of the online bundles came with Call of Duty 2 since Dead or Alive 4 missed launch. Still, Call of Duty 2 is one of the best games ever.

Come on dude, it's not the "beginning of the end" for PC gaming.  The install base for PC's is way too huge to make that big of a leap.  Over 80% of every household in the world has a PC, the 360 will never get close to that kind of install base.  Just because 1 game outsold any particular PC game does not mean that PC gaming is dead.  That's just silly.

And although I think CoD2 is excellent on the 360, just because it sold a gazillion copies does not automatically mean that it is the "best" game on the 360.  Take Halo 2 for example.  That sold a kagillion copies on the XBOX, but it's hardly the best game on the system IMO.  You're making some pretty big leaps there....

Call Of Duty is not the best game by how much it sells, its just on people's tastes. I also found a couple of problems with that list I garentee you that San Andreas sold more than Call Of Duty 2 on PS2. Call Of Duty 2 is a good game but not the best on 360 thats just my opinion.

bad logic. madden 2006 was the top selling game of december, and it looks and plays like the President of Awful took a dump on your tv screen. just because a game sells doesn't make it good. sure, CoD2 is great, but from what i have played 8.8 or so is about right. it isn't exacly breaking new ground or doing a whole lot the first one didn't do.

not to mention that "rake in more cash" doesn't mean "outsold". PC games can be $39.99 - $49.99. CoD2 for 360 was $60.

BTW, Call of Duty was also released on PC, I'm pretty sure this includes the PC version, I don't believe the article's author was very educated and his writing is fooling people into believing that the sales numbers are XB360 only, even if there was 1 CoD2 sold per Xbox360 sold, it wouldn't have beat Madden 06 on PS2 alone.

you have to realise xbox360 owners only really had CoD2 to buy. its the best by miles. pc gamers had tones of titles, alot downloadable or bought the year before and are still good now, WoW for instance. As for selling more then the other games you mention, they wernt even big sellers.
