The single player was lacking in true tactical gameplay i agree. Still fun, but not in the way i was hoping for. Id like to see a next gen Full Spectrum Warrior or something similar to it some time. DZBricktop

there is no tactical component to this game (single player) in any fasion. No team work, no covert missions, no tactics whatsoever. point gun - wait for a butt-load of enemies to pop up - shoot them. and the "halo armor" aspect is just brilliant for a military shooter. it's all so last gen, but with tight visuals. it's modern day halo. no wonder today's gamers are so flat out dumb. i mean, listen how 90% of CoD4's online population speak. it's like 500,000 high school drop-outs playing army-man like 8 year olds. maybe i'm just getting too picky as i get older, but can i please get a game that takes an ounce of intelligence rather than a intchy trigger finger and a knack for uber pwnage?theandy2000

i totaly agree but COD games have never been tactical though they are twitch shooters thats the appeal. i think the problem with cod4 the big problem was marketing, they tried to market it as something it wasn't. this is a cod game true and true, 90 percent of the game is about the same as past cod games the majority of the changes are superficial (im not saying thats good or bad)

Lmfao @ some of you defending Call of Duty 4 like if it was made especially for you. The game does lack alot of things, but it's still fun.

It's just a fun game with really good graphics. The single player campaign was decent, there really is no deep plot to it or anything amazing. Kill the terrorists and that's it. The game was made for it's online play not its single player mode so if you arent into just straight deathmatch type games then this isn't the game for you.

Try a Third person shooter like Gears, GRAW, GRAW2.. etc.. Usually the games that lack good online play are better in the single campaign.

Look, I did enjoy the campaign. It's a GOOD game, no more, no less. My point was not to flame the game, but to express my desire for an action game that can test your decision making and tactical skills rather than just pop up terrorist after terrorist in your face and let you shoot them. Even games that used to be hard-core, like R63, have gone the way of the dummy. I wonder how this new Tom Clancy End War is going to be. Maybe it will scratch the itch.theandy2000

there are some tactics one can employ in CoD 4, but no, it is not to the extent of using snake cameras, or breach, bang, and clear.

yeah i guess RB6:V is more tactical, because u can take cover and all that, but i mean still while youre in cover, all u do is wait for bad guys to pop out just like that guy said about CoD. and its not like u can just stand right out in the open on CoD and just continue firing until theyre all dead. you still have to take cover, even though its just running behing something.

All these complaints were made months ago. I'm 28 and I get annoyed with some of the kids on there too.......but there's this great little mute feature. Works like a charm! Play it or don't play it. Use strategy or don't. This is complaining that is as bad as the kids you are complaining about. If you want a really fun experience you should go and play Halo 2. YES, 2...not 3. All the "poor" kids whose parents won't get them or can't afford a 360 are STILL playing it and they use it as a tool to take out their frustrations of not having a 360. Don't believe me? Head on over to Halo 2 and you'll find the youngest and most immature crazy littlle kids you would ever find online. That might clear your head up a little bit about COD4. By no means am I denying that there are a ton of idiots on it. I'm just pointing you in the direction of BIGGER idiots. :)

CoD4 could have been done on the XBOX, minus the graphics, obviously. And I been nothing but insulted since I posted this topic, so I'm just returning the favor. Also, CoD4 is a rehash of CoD2 &3. I completely agree with the poster of the topic. The only time i could play COD4 was when i was in the mood for run and gun. thats all the game consists of in single player and multi player. hardly anyone uses the mic on cod4 for tactics. Most of the time your stuck listening to two d-bags talk about their favorite music, or some girl they were trying to get with. The second you start shouting out enemy positions you get sarcastic remarks like thanks, sherlock. My favorite is thanks **** could of used that 5 seconds ago.....

Lacking skill in COD 4 is hardly a reason to trash all over it.....I have a friend just like you. He's 4 years older than myself, that's 32 to help you out. I've known him for about 11 years and he has ALWAYS been terrible at FPSs. He recently picked up a 360 and has Halo 3 and COD 4. And he whines and complains and gets mad and then just gets off without even telling us he's leaving. Whose fault is it that his accuracy is less than 6% and his F.N.G. time is 97.54 seconds? His own. Don't play the game if you can't hang with the competition. Don't come online and gripe about it because you want to piss off people on the boards either.
