That is a good question; i'd recomend lost planet because it is new a different, and made by Capcom - who never miss. but go with C and C is if you are a fan of the series.
Screw it - just buy both, they are both awesome

If you have a hard time with an RTS on a PC, you'd probably have an even harder time trying to play it with a 360 controller.msjr78I enjoy LOTR:BFME 2... but I turtle like nobody's business. I worry that turtling isn't an option in C&C what with all the super weapons ans such.
I do want both, but can only get one game. My friend likes RTS, and I was wondering if C&C had fun online to play with a friend (He is also not great at RTS. I'm like a Jedi Master of RTS compared to my more casual friend. )

What do you mean when you say that you "turtle"?Go with Lost Planet. It's a great third person shooter and mech game. Also, the online is a ton of fun.
I own C&C3 for the PC and I was letdown by it. It does nothing to move the RTS genre forward. It's still not as fun as when I played Starcraft or Diablo for the first time. Also, the cutscenes are cheesy and feel like they are straight out of a game made for the Jaguar or 3DO.

What do you mean when you say that you "turtle"? Build up the largest army possible before the super attack. Can't do that with C&C and that's the only strategy I've got LOL.[QUOTE="msjr78"][QUOTE="donalbane"]I enjoy LOTR:BFME 2... but I turtle like nobody's business. That's why I'm not very good at RTS's either. I used to play Age of Empires and would still be chopping down trees with cavemen while my opponent would be pillaging my civilization with Spartans and battleships.[QUOTE="kozzy1234"]C&C3 > Lost Planet :DdonalbaneIn what regard? Can you be more specific please?
Reasons why C&C3 is > Lost Planet
- I own both and have had more fun with C&C already
- Singleplayer is alot better on c&c (ALOT BETTER)
- Its good to have a good RTS game on the 360
- Has more replay value
Reasons why Lost PLanet > C&C3
- Lost Planet = Better online (Not by much though)
- Lost Planet = Better graphics

Well jeez... so many perspectives. Maybe I'll flip a coin or something... I just don't know. I just don't want that buyer's remorse sensation to set in tonight, you know? I HATE that.[QUOTE="Staryoshi87"][QUOTE="kozzy1234"]In what regard? Can you be more specific please?[QUOTE="donalbane"][QUOTE="kozzy1234"]C&C3 > Lost Planet :Ddonalbane

IMO, both are MUST BUY games..... even if you dont like one of em all that much.. they are good games to own and have in your collection.
So what ever you pick i dont see it being that big of a a deal honestly (:

well you can always turtle and while keeping their power down or super weapons offline, like strategic air strikes and commando lead jumpjet squads.
[QUOTE="donalbane"]Well I guess I'm leaning towards Lost Planet still. Nice to know that they are both solid buys, though.Read this Review. Hopefully that will help you.
Is C&C easier to control than LOTR?msjr78
in my opinion C&C feels a litlle more natural, prolly due to just a little more time spent on it than lotr. and i have played both and own C&C.
You guys ever seen those professional StarCraft players on TV in Korea? They live in these training centers and all they do is practice their StarCraft skills. They're famous like pro athletes over there. They have APM's (Actions Per Minute) of like 400. A decent casual gamer has an APM of maybe 50 to 70. Imagine pulling off 400 commands in one minute. That's ridiculous. Korean StarCraft TVmsjr78
yeah no doubt i know exactly what you are talking about, a few of them went to the tournament at the great wall of china, but you have to have respect for dedication like that, i mean seriously that is awesome.

Damnit, my thing didn't quote right. I meant to refute all of his points. LP is a much better buy than CC, is the gist of what I was going to say.
I have C&C and it's hard to regret buying it. The game is simply outstanding. Though it is a bit hard I think. I only played it on Hard for achievements, haven't tried easy yet, but from what I heard it's generally hard. I'm a fan of the series and don't have too much trouble with it. Even on Hard mode. So I'm not sure what to believe.
However, the single player is very long. For me it is at least. There are three campaigns. I've completed one of them and on the second I'm near the end. It goes in Acts. Act 1 to Act 5. At least for the first two campaigns. The third is shorter then those. But I've already spent... *estimates* 20 hours playing the single player of this game. I've almost finished the second campaign and the third is a bit shorter so it should take me 25 or 30 hours to complete the entire game.
The controls are excellent. And whoever just said there is no Force Fire and Guard clearly didn't play this game for one minute because it's all in there. Skirmish is a great deal of fun. Oh, and don't worry about turteling. You can do that in this game. Not fully though. You can't stay on absolutely one position and expect to win. What you can do is go for a secondary Tiberium Field (resource) in the start of the game, gather those resources as well and turtle from there on. GDI is mostly suited for this. Just fast-tech and spam out 6 or so Mammoth Tanks to defend you're base. Build more and more of them while the force you are going to attack with defends you're base before the attack. When you have enough, leave a few at home for any retaliation and just attack. Most likely won't work against veteran players, but decently enough it works. You can always play Skirmish as well, in which you can set the AI to either a Balanced strategy, Rusher, Turtle, Guerilla and Steamroller. It's fun. I can't get enough of it.

Sounds like there is a lot of value for my $60 should I buy C&C.... not so with LP. The reason being, I just don't see myself playing LP online over Gears, you know?

I just bought C&C3 today, so i haven't played enough of it to recomend it though i will say what i've played so far is superb.
In my experience, having a friend(good or not) to play online RTS games is TONS of fun, so if your friend would get it/has it i'd say that's a plus for C&C. However, you did say you weren't good at RTS, does that hinder the experience much?
Anyways, i don't know about most other places but here in ottawa i've found a couple stores that are selling C&C3 for 10 bucks less then regular xbox games(59 as opposed to 69), so maybe its cheaper where you are.. which is always a plus!
Thanks for all the information! Glad to know I can still take my time somewhat in C&C. Jeez... this is a really tough call. I was leaning towards LP but now I'm thinking C&C. AGHHHH!!!!! I'm not a very good RTS player, but maybe I could improve with practice.
Im no good at RTS either but CnC3 is really fun, ive only played the demo and i have the full game on PC. I usually play as GDI. and i turtle alot. turtling im pretty sure means to hide in your base with defense all around like turrets which is what i do against the AI/Comp lol i usually have around 40 turrets around my base with anti vehicle turrets behind them. Then when i get enough defense i build like 12 mammoth tanks and go stomp the yard haha construction yard (lame joke) but yah.
lost planet, I had a difficult time finishing, not because it was hard but because the levels were no fun but it was worth it for the boss fights. the game isnt all that great and i had high hopes for it, but it has no replay value, and i prolly wont play LP again for single player. The game is really repetitive but what shooter isnt.
id say go with CnC3

Go for Lost Planet. The plot is probably the worst in gaming history, but it's a good game, and I thought the multiplayer was pretty darn fun.
