Controller joystick warn out, anyway to fix?

when i push up on my joystick it get stuck up a little bit and the person keeps walking foward in game, is there anyway i could fix this? or should i go out and buy a new controller?

What I do sometimes Is I smash my button... (joystick) Happens with my left bumper sometimes, Just hit it slightly, then harder and harder until it works..

and if it still doesn't work Don't grab a hammer and smash it to pieces

Controllers are hard to fix. Get a new one better.

I had a controller like that for a while. It's worth it to buy a new one. Then you will have two so you can play splitscreen with friends.
