lol, they are both mediocre at best. as single player shooters, both had totally weak campaigns. Neither of them offered an experience worth mentioning. On lve, i dont know why you would play either when you could play CoD. this is my opinion anyway :)

Halo 3 has the better MP because Bungie was responsible and released a Beta and got public feedback. Epic released a lagfest and glitchfest and refuses to acknowledge it. CoD MP has a fair share of idiotic features like airstrikes, helicopters, and martyr.

COD is weaker than Halo. Halo's campaign was terrible. However as far as multiplayer goes, it has been destroying everything ever since its release. Neither COD4 nor LOL Gears 2 cranked out daily numbers that halo 3 puts out. Hell even to this day Halo 3 has an avg of 200-300k people online at peak hours. In social slayer alone which mostly has anywhere between 50-100k beats the total amount of people on at a time in Gear and COD4 combined. Everytime I played COD4 I only saw about 50k-80k people online in multiplayer (and this was in dec 07-june08). Sure as hell today I bet its hardly pushing 20k. Gear 2....please dont make me laugh. That game is one of the most poorly made shooters out there. These forums will be deemed illogical if any of you think otherwise. Same old game breaking bullet lag from the first as well as the same old glitches to be taken advantage of in order to win. People played that game for the first week and now Its rare to see more than 10 out of the 80 people on my list play it. I honestly dont adore halo but its the most playable game out of the group (Gears, CoD, etc etc). It is also the one shooter today that I always go back to. Ive given away COD4 and Im borderline near snapping my Gears 2 disc in half with all the lag and glitches.

Ive given away COD4 and Im borderline near snapping my Gears 2 disc in half with all the lag and glitches. past the horrific lag and the ridiculous glitches, gears of war 2 has the basis for a great game. in the matches im able to get into with no lag and no serious glitchers, i can really enjoy it. there are some minor glitches that are really easy to do that are pretty commonly used. even i use them. weapon slide for one :P but ive rarely come across an of the serious ones like the KFF or crab walking. you really have to practice those and in a multiplayer match its usually impractical to do them unless you're lucky with having the right situation to pull it off.

Ive given away COD4 and Im borderline near snapping my Gears 2 disc in half with all the lag and glitches. lol halo attracts lots of people for a reason it requires almost no skill i could owned people even when i had not touched the game for 7 months halo 3 is no where near COD4 in terms of quality the only reason your precious halo is above COD4 is because bungie constantly give you new content while Ifinity ward sit and watch so mark my words if COD4 had the same support it would always be above it.

lol cod wtf well cod5 is bad cod4 owns gears owns halo owns so ya You kind of people dont make sense. Saying CoD5 sucks, and then saying CoD4 is great? Theyre basically the same! You cant say 1 sucks and the other is great, thats just hypocritical. Anyway, Gears of War 2 is so much better than Halo 3. Halo3 was the biggest letdown of Xbox history.
both have great stories great campaigns (apart from some of halo's level design) both action packed etc etc both got good mutiplayer even if gears matchmaking is currently a bit crap
though i must say if you dont like either one, then dont buy its simple as that
Gears 2 is the best game overall due to a great SP experience and the Horde mode which I think is awesome. However, I had more fun on Halo 3 MP for some reason even though I recognize that it is a mediocre FPS at best.

Halo campaign weak but Gears 2 story is great
Gears of wars could have been written by a 10 year old and it would be more in-depth.
i think gears 2 would be better if they'd patch out that sheild glitch
it ruins horde in particular when your trying desperatly to survive each wave with your teams as they steadily rise in difficulty,,, and then you realise its not actually all that much of a challenge cause some lil cheat is blocking the horde off with the shields then just sitting back and gunning them down in relative safety ,,, kinda saps all the skill and challenge outa the thing
wow Halo is so much better online. Gears online is unplayable it going to be like Halo 2 before the banhammer with people cheating and bridging. Gears also has every glitch possible. Epic refuses to acknowledge it. Bungie is a way better company and care more about their customers and make the game right even when sometimes I dont agree with them. Epic just wants the money and that why they released a map pack that could have been on the disc and before they release a patch.Epic has lost many customers.
