Crackdown Vs. Dead Rising

Crackdown has a bit more replay value, plus the online is fun. With the new DLC, it's just a better game than Dead Rising. But you should still rent Dead Rising.

No Online huh? Well this is a tough decision. Just think of it this way: Do you like an RPG style zombie killer with a good story. Or do you want an explosive future shooter with superhuman abilities with minor RPG elements but with absolutely no story? Their both really great games.

Graphicsare really realistic in Dead Rising and really show off some of 360's power. In Crackdown, it's a bit cel-shaded looking and has this comic book feel to it.

Sound is great too, with Crackdown featuring nice gun sounds and explosions with some fun futuristic techno music in the car. Dead Rising has music during boss fights and great ambient sound with the moaning of zombies surrounding you.

Gameplay is the same in both games. Repetitive, yet fun.

I can't decide this myself. I say get both. Or try it out at friend's house or by renting them. You will have to make your own decision.

Dead Rising looks better and is pretty fun to mess around in. But I never got into it. To me, Crackdown is the better choice. I mean it's pretty much useless now that the beta is gone, but it's fun to pop in from time to time. Mainly beacuse it has multiplayer.

Lol, if you changed that to the opposite of what you just said, I would agree. I bought the game in spite of the beta, myself.

crackdown =replayability

I'd go for Dead Rising. That game is just pure entertainment. If you've ever wondered what it'd be like to mow over 30 zombies with a lawnmower, run through a crowd with a giant umbrella or wield a trolley asan offensive weaponDead Rising is the game for you. The achievements add a lot of replayability too...

Crackdown was a boring freeroamer, and Dead Rising was a fun action/adventure zombie game.

I liked Dead Rising.

i couldnt get into dead rising for whatever reason (maybe i was just tired whenever i played it)

i only drove a car once in crackdown...

DR too but if u are loking for achievements, this game is a big pain in the ass

i faced this same choice a few days ago i brought crackdown but its rubbish realy it took me about a couple of days to complete it lacks substance a sotryline a meaning and it gets repetetive zombie smashing with 100s of weapons however dosent get boring :)

otis is an old retard hejust calls at the most awkward times e.g when yourruning through the park in the night with civilians runing around which you have to help while thousand of red eyed even more anoyingly vicous zombies try to bite your head off (and others which prefer the lower abdamon???) and 3 pri*ks on a armoured vehicle gun you down

I have Transmissionary question though - Do you get the achievement as soon as you receive the final transmission from Otis, or do you get it at the end of the game? Isn't the laser sword for the 5-Day survivor achievement? I gave up on it after getting to 4 days, 23 hours, and 15 mins and having the game freeze. I was so pissed I didn't play DR again for like 3 months, lol.
