so i bought my buddy's 360 and turns out his credit card info is in the system....theres live gold till november and then itll renew for 50 bucks....how do i take the credit card info out of the console so that it doesnt bill him?Serial-No_3404
You need to talk to the friend you bought it from and have him call Xbox customer support (1-800-4MY-XBOX.) the credit card info you see there is tied to his account - not the console. If he no longer wants Live period, he needs to call the support number and cancel his subscription (You cannot do it because you hold no claim to the credit card much less the Gamertag, so if you tried, support wouldn't help you.)
If he still wants the Live account, and the subscription, all you need to do is just delete the Gamer profile that belongs to him off the storage device, create your own Live account, and boom, problem solved. He can still recover his Gamertag on another Xbox if he so wishes to do so, or manage his account from xbox.com.

ho no longer cares about his gamertag and his console...so im using his gamertag with live on it...is there any way to just remove the credit card from the gamertag while keeping live gold on it? he dpesnt want to use his gamertag anymore...he gave the system and everything associated with it to me....i just want to make sure he dpesnt get charged anymore...anyway to remove the info using system options or does he have to call 180o4myxboxThen all he needs to do is cancel the subscription as I said. However, even after cancelling the subscription, the account will still remain gold status for as long as he paid for it. Meaning, if he paid for a year's subscription, the account will remain gold until a year's time from purchase, but after the time period is up, the account will automatically switch to silver status. The credit card information is still removed from the account however to prevent him from being billed again.
If you don't play the multiplayer component on Xbox games and just play the single player, or just occasionally download from the marketplace, you won't miss gold. You can still use a silver account for as long as you like.
ok thanks bro...ill let him know that...so if he cancels hes subscription ill still ave gold until november (when his 1 year started)...and then itll revert to silver automatically correct?Serial-No_3404
Correct.
After he cancels the subscription however, and the credit card info disappears, it's probably a good idea (If you want to continue using that account afterwards) to update the password to the account, and any contact information associated with the account, (If he just handed it over to you, chances are it doesn't have your address or name on file.) and commit it to memory. You'll need that info if you ever need extended support in the future if you should need to call that same number on another issue, or if by chance you have a memory unit/hard drive failure and your gamer profile gets wiped out - you'll need to recover it from Xbox live and you'll need to know the Windows Live ID information to recover it.
