I've been a staunch Guitar Hero loyalist since GH3(including playing the hell out of GH: On Tour and On Tour Decades). The Beatles were tempting, but I held fast. I just played the demo for Greenday: Rock Band. Damn.El_Zo1212oReally? You've been missing out a lot them, i consider Rock Band to be better all around (DLC Gameplaywise, music tracks etc) and i used to play guitar hero a lot, that didn't stop me for switching though, Guitar Hero 5 was crap
Yeah, way to pick a musical group who has a lot of songs that sound identical. At least the Beatles changed their sound every album. Green Day has gone from a really great band that I loved as a teen to complete musical crap.

And before it was released to the public? Awesome. And with regard to everyone who took this thread as an invitation to hop on the *!%& Greenday bandwagon, you're missing the point. I like Greenday. They. played some of the rockinest tunes of the nineties. Don't get me wrong, I love me some Sabbath and all kinds of old great metal and rock bands, but the two songs on the demo I played were about the most fun I've had wailing on my plastic guitar since GH On Tour did Stray Cat Strut.
Whoa, whoa, whoa, wee, whoa. As a frequent player of BOTH franchises, Rock Band already has a TON of Iron Maiden for download, and some cover versions of Black Sabbath(I'm sure once Ozzy let's RB have his music he'll be on there soon too). Green Day is a very good choice for a band exclusive game. I'm 27, and I've been a Green Day fan since "Kerplunk", then continued to get the rest of their stuff. They have always been good. Coming off the release of the Beatles game, what did everyone expect? Zeppelin? Pink Floyd? These bands already expressed their disinterest in the music game genre. You have to remember that when a game like this is conceived, they have a crap load of problems they have to sort out just to get us ANY music for our games, let alone a whole catalogue of a certain band. Blame Warner Music Group, but don't get all mad because your favorite bands have no interest in making more money/fans by jumping on the music game genre band wagon. The first clue should've come when they announced they'd give a whole game to Greenday.
I mean seriously... Wtf? Greenday? Why not an actualdecent band, like Black Sabbath or Iron Maiden?
TJORLY

Harmonix was smart to leave the "Hero" franchise to $Vison and make their own game. Infinitely more DLC is the key to making a music genre game, and GH will never catch up to them, especially with the Rock Band Network, and the ability to add ALL tracks from previous games, not just 1/3 of the crappy ones like GH.
