Dead Space questions. Help? =)

I know Dead Space got great grades here and there, but I have a couple of questions before getting it.

Does it have only story mode?

How many difficulty levels?

How long is it?

Is it really scary? I hope so =)

Anything else you'd like to add as long as it doesn't spoil the story, feel free to =)

you shouldn't trust ppl on forums when it comes to the Scary part. come on, they would even tell you that FEAR is scary, wich it isn't. s2i2p2i2o

Hi, uh i have a few answers for you concerning dead space. it is by far the absolute best game i have ever played, and i have a great gaming resume'. there are i believe four difficulty settings. the last of which is the most ominous sounding (impossible) and is unlocked after completion of the game on any other difficulty. the story is absolutely second to none. i felt as if i were playing through an actual story as opposed to a game. the audio is even better than the visual aspect of the game. it is the absolutely best sounding game available to date. the length of the storyis ratherlong as well. i dont really remember how long it took me to play through, but it did seem pretty long. as for how scary it is... you will be absolutely amazed with how the environment of that game will scare the **** out of you. of course they also have the occasional scare of a necromorph popping out of a seemingly useless corners of the game. i do recommend however that you download and watch the dead space animated comic series before playing the game as the series ends at the very beginning minutes to the actual game. there is no multiplayer to the game however. but quite frankly,i could give 2 ****s. the story that you will go through is so well told that you will not miss a multiplayer mode in the least. simply put. dead space is one of the best games that EA has ever made. funny as it is though that their very 1st survival horror game redefines the entire genre. get it and have fun. period.

It has a great story mode, 3 difficulties, and yes it is creepy. It took me exactly 10 hours on my first playthrough.Canvas_Of_Flesh

I think you recieved all the answers you need, and there is 4 difficulties including Impossible. You really should get this game, overall a great experience!

My suggestion turn the lights off and turn up the volume, I did this on my second play through and it really added to the game!

The sound to me was the best part, the story was intriguing, but really left me wanting more (which might have been on purpose). The gameplay itself never seemed to get boring, because there were so many different weapons, and strategies.
