I agree to a certain degree about BS, but I also disagree with the thread, Shooting games is about the gunplay and some shooting games still deliever in that respect.

Sounds more like you don't like Halo than think the FPS is dead. You're saying games need to be more like GRAW or CoD. Well guess what, there are games like GRAW and CoD.b11051973

I agree, if anything this is another Halo bashing thread, if you like realistic games go play GRAW and COD 4, nobody is forcing you to play H3 or UT4 or other arcade shooters.

COD2 and COD4 are almost completely action shooters... There is not that much strategy involved! Its just run and gun! And I can't get enough of it! Along with millions of other people! You are just plain talking out of your arse now!

All you have to do to get those numbers is run around like an idiot with a shotgun or do the health perk, conditioning and then run around vacant knifing people. I never said anything about camping, but lets pretend I did. There is nothing wrong with camping, if you don't know how to watch the kill cam then use your nades than you deserve to die every time you run out into the open like a retard On the other hand if you DO know how to watch the killcam and use nades than the camper is just a free kill.

Oh and while we are at it why don't you reread my post. In fact the only thing it aludes to is the fact I spent more time prone in CoD 4 than I did in Halo. Anyone care to hazard a guess as to why that is? Oh let me, you can't go prone in Halo! In fact I could have in reality spent all of .05 seconds prone in CoD 4 and still spent more time prone than I could have in Halo. Games with stories are great. Games with guns AND stories are really great. Games with huge guns that rip things to shreds and make hella noise while mowing down hordes of intelligent enemies while telling a very intrigueing, immersivestory all while running 30fps with realistic lighting and particle effects make me go out and spend $59.95 ($69.95 for collector's edition). Games that revolve around throwing a ball around while obeying some dude dressed like a penguin blowing a whistle make me angry. Games that involve some hokey, turn-based D&D system and powering up elves and wizards make me hurl. My philosphy on games is pretty much this: "Shoot or go play Barbies."

While shooting in the first person may not be the best thing in the world anymore due to the rise of great third person shooters like GoW and Splinter Cell, the shooter genre is alive and well. I haven't played Halo3 yet, but I thought Halo2 felt somewhat claustrophobic. It was as if my field ofvision was limited by my helmet or something. I didn't like it. As for online play, I prrefer FPS over third person anyday.

bioshock and halo3 were the most overhyped games ever i dont think either are all that great but thats jus mestolz1975

I'm willing to bet, between the months of April 2006 to 2007, you(Or anyone else, excluding the developers and Meta fanboys) never heard a thing about Bioshock, maybe even forgotten about it.It was only really hyped when it was announced and released, unlike some other series, like Halo or (Out of topic) Super Smash Bros, were they're practically hyped before they're even announced.

Im just getting tired of killing someone for no reason, I am also getting tired of killing Nazi's. Infact I want a fps that goes back in time. Imagine being a rifleman during the revolutionary war ambushing your targets then having to reload or use your bayonet to stab your foes if they get to close.

Also we need more realistic shooters. I want it so im shot in the leg I have to limp or if im shot in the arm i have a chance to drop my weapon and also suffer aiming same thing would happen with the enemies. Or maybe a pirate fps where you can fight with your flintlock and also cutlasses all from a fps view.

Honestly give me anything but a fps with Nazi's or terrorists.At least allow me to fight the French or the Scottish

Ok lets get things straight firstly i love games like GoW GRAW RB6 CoD ect. Im saying the shooters that feel completely random are now outdated.

The whole issue with me liking the first halo and not the series because i expected more is rubbish. The second halo deveated from the first and placed more enfasis on sniper play rather than action ( which was good then but outdated now).

and finaly halo 3 would have been a better game on the original xbox because it would not have passed its sell by date, the style of game is on the way out do you realy see your self playing such games 18 months from now? i dont i hope to se more games like gears providing in depth gameplay as opposed to running with the trigger held down.

Halo 2 wasnt a step backwards.. it just refined Halo CE.

Halo 3 looks like a mix of the two.

In my opinion halo ce was the pinacle of action fp shooters, halo 2 was a step backwards and halo 3 copies ce adding a few bits and pieces.Halo 3 is a game released to late it belongs on the old xbox where it may still have beenworth playing.I think the action fps is dead and the only way forward is realistic fps like CoD and GRAW or third person shooters like gears which seem to have more to offer.

C'mon the pinacle of First person shooters was back in the days of halif life for the pc.(maybe for consoles it was halo) But even after Half life there have been MANY high quality shooters however they are outweighed by the ammount of garbage shooters. I would have to say the FPS genre is strong as ever just diluted by cookie cutter shooters. Nuff said.

bioshock was decent not great and what made it good was the story and clever use of bio weapons the gun play was sub par with the level of gameplay today
