yeah had the unfortunate time of playing it twice because i was told its better the second time, yeah blew just as hard the second time as it did the first. this is for people who agree that this game is a disgrace to silicon knights resume, not to say its good.makchady
Taking away our rights to free speech? :P We can have a reasonable discussion about why we each think the game is good or bad without uselessly bashing each other.
that game was 10 years in development?!?! why?LP4EVA2005
[QUOTE="LP4EVA2005"]that game was 10 years in development?!?! why?Burnsmiesta
Exaclty. Considering what the game has been through, AND a engine change with that Epic lawsuit, how good the game is, is actually quite impressive.
i see why you like it if you like it for what it does, but i dislike it for what it fails at so hard. there is no such thing as aiming, the camera is lousy, the combat system which wastes an analog system isn't even close to being effective for how much controller room it hogs up. i would prefer the right stick to be an aiming thing and have a button for attacks it does, then just point in which direction with the left stick to do those things and you have a way better camera.paullywog
wow... you honestly don't think they tried that? i'm sure there is a reason for why the combat is controlled with the right analog stick. with all the development time this game has had, i'm sure they've weighed all the options of how the combat should be controlled. i admit it seems a bit weird at first but you get used to it. i found myself trying to adjust the camera several times with the right stick. i think the game is going to be great. it's a shame there are people out here that disagree, but to each their own. i know i'll get it the day it comes out.
I'm with those who don't like it...
I thought it was awful, didn't even finish it and have no desire to do so...
I don't really care if the game has been in development for 10 years or 4, it's a total waste of time IMHO

I think they just wanted to do something different and just happened to fail at it! lol look anyone who really plays games will get use to the camera and the controls after a wail but the point is with all the games that came before it and how long it was in development they should have know better. It would have been forgiven if they put it on the right stick to make room for something new on the face but thats not the case. So now you have to spend time getting to know the button system before you can enjoy the game, and that means it has already taken away from the fun. I can just imagine how many deaths are going to be the result of that faulty camera once you get to harder enemies. I think co-op will save this game but right now its too split down the middle for the game to do great i can only see this getting 7.5 maybe 8 if the story continues to be good.
even if it hasnt been in development 10 years, 4 years is still ridiculously long to todays standards where there is a new madden and call of duty every year and a new gears or resistance every 2.makchady
That's not true at all. Look at Gears and Resistance, it took Epic and Insomniac years for those games to come out because they had to build everything from scratch. Gears 2 and Resistance 2 are coming out sooner because the game engines, sounds, textures, and graphics were already done. All they need to do is reuse and update with what they already have. Which is... less time cosuming!
JUst answer this TC, have you played Diablo? if you have, then i must tell you, its your own opinion, the games is actually pretty good because it ISNT an action game like Ninja Gaiden and Devil May Cry, its a dungeon crawler.
Now, if you havent played Diablo, then your OPINION and topic FAIL to the ground misserably, in other words, everything you said isnt valid.

heya roslindale, totally agree with you. sequels are just upgrades to the prequel, maybe add a few modes, some weapons, bump the graphics up... it really isn't hard to make a sequel if you have all the groundwork laid out already. very few games are made from scratch, truely starting from the ground up or having engine changes, like too human, takes time.
This is the second thread I've seen on do you like or dislike Too Human? This thread happens to be dislike. I for one thought it was absolutely horrible. but thats just my opinion. If you like this game for whatever reason, well than good for you, Iam glad somebody does, because the guys at SK iam sure are having second thoughts. they should. They want $60.00 of your money for this repetitive hack and slash nonsense. I dont really have any valid points, except I hated the demo and I agree with this thread. Just my opinion, iam not trying to piss anybody off. Its funny so far from what Ive gathered from everybody response is, you either hate it or love it. I guess its just what appeals to you, and thats all that matters. Who cares what somebody thinks negatively about what you like. Move on from the Too Human Buy? or dont buy? controversy.

yeah but madden is the same ting every year with one or two new things this game is NEW and its not like every madden which is craped out every year

Exactly. Most companies go out and use the Unreal Engine 3, Source 2, and ETC to cut develope time. Even so, it still takes a long time.
I actually liked it. it felt like the bastard offspring of devil may cry and oblivion, which is awesome. Once i got past the jarring conrols and lack of direct camera control, i thought it was genuinely fun. The fast paced and combo driven melee combat hearkens to devil may cry, while the find-new-and-better-gear component gave even the demo a great deal of depth. I'm definitely getting too human when it comes out. So yes, i liked it, but i can understand why some ppl would want it burned at the stake.
PS
Makchady, is there a reason why u dont like it?
i'm so tired of people complaining that they hate Too Human just because they didn't like the demo. i understand some people were excited for this game and they were disappointed by the demo, but posting in multiple threads, and even starting one just to bash a DEMO? come on.. you gotta grow up sometime.
and for the record, no, i have not played the demo, and i don't really plan on it. if you like it, great, if you don't, good for you, but i for one am tired of everyone getting flamed for liking a demo. even though this game has been through years of developement, if it is fun to just 1 person, than the developers have done their job. obviously not everyone is going to love this game, but for those who do, leave them alone about it and stop trying to persuade them not to, just because you can't handle a different control scheme.
sometimes i don't know if these forums are made up of mature gamers who actually want to have a legitimate discussion, or if gradeschoolers just want to make threads to get everyone's attention.
dude calm down its a demo. i thought it was pretty good. its pretty pathetic how much hate a game is getting bc of the DEMOnahmean187
Demo's job is to give a player clear picture of the game helping a player make his/her decision whether to buy the full game or not. And in that the demo of Too Human succeeds. I won't buy it.

Welcome to Gamespot. Where the latter run rampant.
On topic though, seriously, this game is not that bad. The controls make sense and while its awkward at first it doesn't take long to adapt. The right analog stick prevents the inevitable button mashing that comes with all hack and slash games. I'd much rather swing the stick around than smash X button all day. Love it or hate it, make up your own mind. Just stop baawwwwing over it. No one cares.
I won't be buying the game right when it comes out, but this is definitely worth a play-through, and definitely doesn't deserve the accusations of "EPIC PHAIL lolz!!"
