I wouldn't call it perfect. It had a few bugs, the elevator scenes were annoying and the Mako parts were so frustrating sometimes. It's a very good game, but not perfect.

It may sound weird, but to me all those little bugs added to the charm of the game, thats just my opinion. and those elevator parts were the perfect time to go get a beer;)

Either way I can't for Mass Effect 2. Bioware said they've adressed many of the problems from the original, which was a great game despite the little bugs. Mass Effect 2 = 2010 GOTY. :D
I only know one person who didn't like Mass Effect... and he is an idiot... and I mean that... I leant him the game, he played it for all of 5 minutes and then hit me with a storm of idiot questions...
"Dude! WTF are protheans!?" "WTF are these guys talking about!" "Dude! Why is there so much talking? When do I get to shoot!?"
People with below average thinking skills will not understand/enjoy the game...
I played, enjoyed it, etc., and I'm looking forward to ME2; however, it's a standard Western RPG in my opinion. I mean, they reused every planet and these bland environments for buildings over and over. There was only one real city to explore and it was pretty boring. Side quests were okay, but didn't really have large impacts on your game and everything seemed very linear: Go to place, kill things, etc.--and did I mention while doing this you were visiting recycled3 room buildings over and over, lol.I liked the dialogue; however, there didn't seem to beany real impactlike there was in KOTOR, and your moral choices just seemed boring for the most part. The weapons system was okay and I enjoyed the powers, but I would like something more fluid like Bioshock if they are going to use a system like that. Don't get me wrong, I loved KOTOR's system, but ME with all the guns doesn't work well as a shooter considering your powers don'treally provide any strategy or real use in battle. The opposite can be argued, but I think something comparable to Bioshock powers or KOTOR would be more useful. Only geth and mercs to kill with 4 dif weapons...... Lastly, like every large RPG, there are bugs, etc. However, the Framerate in ME was inescusably buggy and other issues both small and large in this department bothered me. Other than that, fix the elevators, add some cool integrated mini-games and get rid of Mako and I'm happy, lol.
I liked the game, quitea lot. And again, I will get the sequel, but nonetheless, it was still okay as far as I'm concerned. If you are into the whole Sci-Fi thing, I can see how you would like the game much more.

It started off really good, then it became very boring when i got to the first space station. Walking around searching for something to do was tedious. I never got any further into the game...so i dont if was really any good or not. I wont get Mass Effect 2.
Mass Effect obviously isn't your kind of game. Didn't you play any other Bioware games before Mass Effect? They're pretty similar. Bioware's games aren't constant action and finding something to do really isn't hard if you use the map and journal. It started off really good, then it became very boring when i got to the first space station. I don't know why you bought Oblivion, Fallout 3 and Mass Effect if you don't like that type of RPG's. Those three are quite similar so after playing one and not liking it you should've realised you wouldn't like the other two. Not one for common sense? Example, I don't like the COD games or Guitar Hero. After playing COD4 and getting very bored with it then deciding I didn't like it I didn't buy WAW and I'm not going to get MW2. After buying Guitar Hero 2 and deciding I don't like that I haven't bought another Guitar Hero since and I never will again. See what I done there? I used my experiences with COD4 and Guitar Hero 2 to my advantage by saving myself from buying another game I wouldn't like. You should try it out.[QUOTE="x-2tha-z"][QUOTE="Videodogg"]

I agree with u. I played it for a few hours and just couldnt get into it. Just way tomuch talking and then all the damn elevators just got on my nerves. Its a ok game.
If you don't like "too much talking", then you probably don't like the role-playing genre in general, so that's not a valid criticism.Nah it's one of my favorite games. I'm not calling it perfect though. I didn't like the elevators, I wasn't impressed with the Mako parts, and pretty much all of the bases I went into looked the same with minor variations in the layout. The actual campaign though, well I loved it. Especialy after you finaly get to leave the citadel.
I loved the game. The only complaint was the stupid elevators. They just took way to long to get anywhere.

Im finding alot of people made the mistake a few of my friends did and dint get through the first half slightly average first half of the game
Helll i didnt really like it til about 8 hours into it!
the last 6-8 hours give you the most epic storyline in a videogame ever!
If it isnt the best and most well-paced story in a video-game ever, its certainly the most epic
i
Oh yes, the first time I played it, I hated it.
I pressed on, started to love it and now its my favorite 360 single-player game.
Myself personally I love Mass Effect, I personally didn't mind the lift bits it was just the bits with the Maco which was long and boring, however the story just seemed to drag you in.
hmm after reading all your comments, Im gonna try to get into it...
I got to the first city and ot bored :P
