I am nowhere near having a seizure, it is more like motion sickness.lgrub002
It was jsut a suggestion....hmmm....I can't say that I have ever gotten motion sickness. How long are you playing the games for and are you on the verge of heading to bed or really tired when you try and play games sometimes? I know that can make you feel sick.
Yes, Halo 3 makes me sick every time I'm forced to play a game type I hate.Zulgaines
Same here. I think it was yesterday or the day before that I played three games of Oddball in succession after I finished a game of Crazy King after that I played Crazy King yet again, so I switched from Lone Wolves to Team Slayer games in which my first game was a game of Shotty Snipers. All game types I don't like, needless to say I quit playing and I plan to not play it for a while because it just pisses me off.
I guess I should go to social matches but I first want some achievements.
It's because of the same thing that causes car sickness. You see that you aremoving, but your body tells your brain that you aren't.
It's actually more common than you'd think. Try playing in a well lit room, and not for long periods. Dark rooms mean you focus more on the light from the tv, which makes it more likely to happen.
Every time I play Orange Box, I get nauseated. I tried backing up, anybody else have that problem?lgrub002
I used to NOT buy FPS's because they made me nauseated. It took a lot of going back and forth on trying them out but eventually became acclimated to them. Now my favorite games are FPS's.
Try to adjust your sensitivity settings to a more mild / less responsive setting and see how that affects you. When you become accustomed to the view and controls you can increase the settings to your liking. I now have my controls set to the higher sensitivity for faster lateral (y axis?) targeting.
I'd give it some time though.
I use to not anymore - i wouldn't recommend playing when you got a headache...it will make it worse. Trust me.
Just put the controlled down, rest a few hours and try again :) You should be fine by then.
Are you Asian? No offense, it's just that I know that a lot of Asian gamers get dizzy from playing FPSs. Not only amongst my friends, but I also read an article related to this.rimnet00
You're probably referring to people who play games all day, non-stop. Like 10-15 hours sitting infront of the computer or TV on their console. What does nausea have to do with Race? Lol.. being Asian doesnt make you more susceptible to dizziness playing videogames, lol. It's a stereotype long ago that Asians play too much videogames because well you know, Japan was like the king of making videogames. And Japanese people are really hardcore when it comes to gaming, even till this day. But to answer the question. I get nausea from playing The Orange Box, ONLY. It's the only game that does, for what reason I dont know. But Portal and Team Fortress doesnt give me nausea. Just Half-Life games. Other people have reported having this problem too. I'm white, Italian, and some Asian(Indian ancestry). I'm a mut, and even a mut gets nausea from Half Life 2. I wasnt trying to be rude or what not, I just dont think it has to do with a certain race or ethnicity.
I do!!! I get really sick while playing FPS in general, that was why I rarely buy an FPS title unless I really really want to play it.
Just minutes ago, I got really sick I nearly threw up after playing The Darkness for over 2 hours...

Wow, consider yourself lucky. I get sick after 15 minutes of playing Half-Life 2. It sucks because I want to play the game so bad. Great game but I cant bear the pain. I wanna hurl after 20 minutes.
Orange box gives me a headache due to no natural bob when running around. I made a thread and the mods deleted it.expandingeye
Is that why? Oh wow, I never thought of it that way. Yeah, most games have natural head bobbing action. Hmm, at least for FPS. I read in an article that it had something to do with the Field of View (FOV). It also said that the source engine makes games look so realistic that it may cause nausea, headache, dizziness for some gamers. This is all theoretical of course.
The only FPS that makes gives me nausea is Half-Life2 (along with its other episodes). Infact, it was so bad I could not, to this day, finish the game, nor do I even try playing it. The odd thing is, this only happens with the half life series. All other FPS game do not give me any problems what so ever. I have no idea why that is.
