I'm sick and tired of the winers, so come of it all ready! Not having the data transfer cable doesn't matter. The fact that the content you own on another console doesn't matter.
I am guessing that you mean by the above is that it doesn't matter if you have content on another console, so there is no reason to complain. It seems reasonable for gamers to say that it would be annoying to have to switch systems to play different games when it is possible to play all the games you want to on the same system. Also, considering that some people have 1080p capable TVs, they would rather play all of the games they can in 1080p from the Elite rather than 1080i on the premium.
The fact that you have to be online at someone elses house with your HD is the only problem. Then again, why would anybody be playing those arcade games anyway, when they have XBOX 360 GAMES that they should be playing!!!!!!!!!!!
Firstly, if you copy over your XBL games from the console you bought them on to another, you have to be online to play them where ever you are, even at your own house. So if you have an Internet outage or router problems then you can't play. Secondly, are you saying that just because a game is an arcade game that it is not as fun as a boxed game? There is no logic in that at all, you have either not played any fun XBL games or you just have a crazy bias. What exactly is it that makes a game from the arcade inferior to a boxed game SOLELY because it from the arcade?
Besides, your friends should have the games downloaded anyway! If your friend has Zuma instead of Geometry Wars/Castlevania/Lumines, then your either not a good friend, or they have issues.:| Teach them!
Okay, your above statement seriously makes me question if you are being sarcastic or not. Seeing as how this view is too crazy for anyone who doesn't write with their toes because they are locked away in a straight-jacket to hold, I will just accept that you were being sarcastic and move on.
The whole point here is that you own your stuff! You can erase and download your stuff as many times as you want! If my Xbox were to break, then all I would have to do when I get the new one, is to simply re-download my shows/XBL Arcade games.
I just put the same HD on, and erase my arcade games. Another example would be to erase the Oblivion Expantion, and then download that sucker again. Easy as pie.
You are correct that you can erase and download games as many times as you want with the console that you bought them on, but you are limited when you switch consoles. Lets say that you buy Geo Wars on your current console and download it. Then you erase it, you can then download it again for free to your current console. Now lets say your console breaks and you get a replacement console. You load your profile and download Geo Wars again. Now, you can only play full Geo Wars while online, when offline you only have the demo. This is because XBL content (games, game content, movies, TV shows, anything that you pay for) is tied to the console you bought it on as well as your gamertag. The console you bought it on will allow you to access them online or off, your gamertag will only let you access them online.
Arcade games literally take no time to download.
Literally: [-adverb] actually; without exaggeration or inaccuracy
This data transfer stuff only helps basic things, such as game saves, and gamertag. The complaining is out of control, and needs to come to an end.:)
You, again, are correct that it will only help with game saves and gamertag because you can re-download everything, but the difference is that you are still screwed when re-downloading everything. I do have to say, MS should have just included the kit with the Elite or special distribution at retail stores rather than making people jump through hoops for it.
