While im talking about limited edition games, does anyone know a website that lists all the limited edition games and forthcoming ones?

I usually don't. I'd rather play the game than hear people talk about how they made it and whatnot. Plus I just don't think it's worth the extra money. But that's just me.

In most cases the LEs don't include anything that mitigates the higher price. The making videos aren't of that much interest to me, same goes for figuries, art-book and so on. A hard case might be worthwhile, but then I do pretty god with the plastic covers, so that's a non-issue..so I guess bottom line, I'd rather save the money on a LE and spend that on another game..

Yeah some of the LE cases are pretty good. I think the case the dead rising LE one is particulary good, although the smaller cases usually dont come with anything different.

no cuz the limited/special edition never adds anythin to the actual game, save for in halo 3's case with the flash game(s)

It really depends on which game it is. If it's a game I'm really amped for, then I'll think about the LE. It also depends what it comes with, if you want the extras or if you can sell the extra stuff for a profit. I bought Lost Planet LE and then sold the figure for like $25 on ebay and turned a profit.

I'll only get a game limited edition, If it has something nifty in it. For mmo's it is ok because you get a extra pet or something fun. For single player games I could care less about a tiny little art book. However what games should do is include the prima strategy guides with the limited edition's to justify the money.

I was thinking it was that. I would never pay that for a game even if it has a spartan helment in there.

I like that idea. Some games are nearly impossible without a decent guide to help you on your way.

Ya,I know some games would give you a preview of the guide little like first level walkthrough, So imagine for say 20$ more you get the guide and all the dvd making of and like a shirt. It would drive the sales of the limited edition pre orders and boost the sells of guides. Cause with online these days im not so sure many pay 20$ for a hard copy instead of just take a peak online.

It really depends on the developer whose game I am purchasing. If I am interested in how they created a certain game, then I will buy the limited edition (I'm also the same way with movies). If they put unnecessary stuff in the bonus disc, then there is no real point to spending the extra money.

I only buy the limited edition if it is a developer I really want to support or the game is such a huge anticipation of mine I might get it.

The only ones I got were a few on PC, and Lost Planet. Unless the junk is good junk or cool in-game junk, it's not worth the extra $10 or more for the metal box. I will be getting the Mass Effect one though.

PC games usually offer far more/better junk, but it also is nostalgic because in the olde days PC games always came with loads of stuff in huge boxes. The biggest one I remember was the Ultima X Dragon Edition.

It depennds on the game for me. Not all games deserve a special edition. And most of them don't come with great stuff for the 10 dollar price up.

depends on what game, and how much. i got the LE of bioshock for the big daddy figurine, definitely worth it. i'm getting the LE of assassin's creed as well, looks to be good. i just got the normal version of halo though, $130 seemed a bit much for one game and a plastic helmet.

I only get games that are looking to provide a good limited edition not just videos of them making the game. I was disappointed with the LE for Halo 2 so I didnt buy it for Halo 3.

It depends what the game is and who is making it.

The only recent limited editions or collectors was:

Bioshock

and

World of Warcraft Burning Crusade.

But blizzard does an outstanding job..

not a 360 game but w.e

Always the most limited edition, no matter the price for me. As for where to find LEs, just check the future releases at the EB website.

thats my main reason aswell. If Im 1000%positive that Im gonna love the gamebefore I buy it and it has some cool stuff included (eg.big daddy figurine for Bioshock, Tshirt for Gears), than Im happy to pay the extra bucks for a LE.

so far I have these LE's: Halo2,Gears,Bioshock,Forza2. Forza2 had nthing included only a bigger booklet with some dev.interviews and car/track stats, but I didnt pay extra money for it.

If there is a game I want to buy and it has a LE version, I always get that. I am a sucker for those versions. The only game I did not buy the LE version was Bioshock but that was because I waited too long to pre-order and EB/Gamestop stopped taking pre-orders on it.
