If you can't tell a difference you need glasses.

I started with a SDTV and moved up to HDTV and the difference is night and day. HDTV is so much better.

[QUOTE="gta_kid1"]

No i've set up everything right I know and it's on 720p

The movie trailors look amazing on it but games look alright but I suppose the games I play at the moment don't have amazing graphics

And my HDTV is only 26 inch should I be able to see the difference still?

danneswegman
screen is too small to really tell the difference...

Not true i was playing at one point on a 20" monitor and still i thought the HD was very evident. I really cannot understand how people say there is not a huge difference i think there is even if sometimes by mistake i have my res set to 480p instead of 720 i can immediately tell something is wrong...

[QUOTE="b11051973"]The bigger the screen, the better for HDTV. It's not really even worth it if you just have a 26" TV. I play on a 50" HDTV and it looks amazing. I've never played 360 on an SDTV, but I can't imagine it would look anywhere near as good.

thats a load of crap. I have a 27" Aquos, and it works fine for the size of the room. Some HDTV's are better than others, I could go out and buy a 50" HDTV, doesn't mean its worth a damn.

In most games there is a pretty big difference....some games like PDZ and PGR3 you cant really tell the difference.. But the newer games like R6V, Gears etc there is a pretty big diffference between SD and HD... Both of them look like absolute sh@t on SD tv...and yes i've tried to play those games on SD...

46" 1080p Bravia here. Can't wait for an HDMI 360 to come out (I want it to :p) so I can take advantage of the Xbox 360s 1080p setting.

Huge difference. I took my 360 round to a mates the other day he has a regular 24-26" t.v and i couldn't even play oblivion, it looked so ugly. It was dark, fuzzy, etc....Everything is much sharper in HD. I'd find it hard to go back now.wiganath
same happened to me

I once plugged my 360 in with the composite cables to see how it looked after using VGA for months, and it was just disgusting to look at. Once you have seen HD, you will not want to go back.

That's just false.

not false.. it's better for the bigger resolutions to have a bigger screen...

Your wrong, while it is better for bigger tvs, the higher the resolution the closer you can also sit to it, so you can sit much closer to a 26inch HDTV to see the detail HD provides, but if far away like 10 feet, then obviously it's not worth it. You might as well be saying all PC monitors should be 640*480 or lower because they are around 20inches. And are not the console displays at stores generally use 26inch LCDs, you saying you don't think it makes a difference there?

we're talking tv's here... not monitors..

Who ever said HD isn't worth it if you have a 26" tv doesn't know anything.

Playing on a 46" HDTV, 1080i or 720p, there is a very noticable difference between HD and SD.  It's called HD for a reason.  I'm still playing on my SDTV though.

I'd rather play SDTV because it looks decent and the jaggies are 2nd to none. Also on my samsung television when it's HD, the colors look really washed out, and games like Ghost Recon, everything seems big and ugly. I don't know if its the tv, but it is very dissapointing to look at. It's running at 1080i currently, I tried everything, setting to 720p and nothing works it still looks very bad.

compareing HD to SD is like comparing poop to a great steak

not be crirtical and all, but under your analogy, HD is poop and SD is great steak. A little off...

DO you have the one they were using on the 360 displays? if so, I agree. I have one of those ones from the kiosks. PC gaming looks like sex, but 360 looks washed out and jaggified.

No I bought my 360 at Costco, it also came bundled with PGR3 (which looks horrible in HD), it was not the Kiosk version. I doubt that it's the console that is defective. If it is though I might go and exchange it for a new one.

360 games such as Gears certainly look more crisp in HD but there isn't truly a huge difference between HD and SD with 360 games.

Yer ok I just need help with my HDTV settings now for like brightness, colour, contrast and sharpness if someone could tell me what to put each of those on that would be awesome
