Many gamers play or buy a game just to raise their gamertag score but others play it for the story or because they want the game.

How about you? Do you play it for the achievements or to beat it?

Play to beat it. Achievements are fun and I enjoy them but I'm not gonna play a game I'm not interested in just for points... I have better things to do lol.

I do both, I only buy games that I know I'll love and the achievements are just an added bonus.

when the game is like a multiplat i usually buy it for the 360 instead of ps3 because of achievements (eg. Devil may cry, turok)

I beat it and usually find out what things i need to do to get achivements, but i dont go out of my way untill im done everything but in the case of a rental i would not rent it again for the last achivement. Sadly Cod4 Mile High Club was the last achivement i needed. I guess the fighting style is not compatible in the way i play, oh ell 980 is awesome still. Take That One Shot One Kill on VET

I think that enjoying the story is the most important part. That's what I play for anyways. and RPG's usually have the best (LOST ODYSSEY).

I buy my games to enjoy the gameplay and story of them. I couldn't care less about some dumb points system that means nothing.

I buy games to have fun and enjoy playing it and the story line. The acheivements are a cool idea and I like how accomplishing some unlocks something in game so you have more to go back to. Playing just for acheivements is lame.

I just buy games for fun and enjoy the game story, achievements are okay but I'm not really into getting acheivements to build up my gamerscore. I only buy games that are interesting and the ones I really like a lot.

I just buy games I actually want to play, if it's a game with a deep story i'll go back and finish the achievements on a second or third playthrough.

I only play good games that interest me. I don't buy, rent or borrow crappy games just to raise my gamerscore. But when I do play games, I play to beat it, and use achievements as incentive for replay value. I try to get as many achievements as I can, but I only play games I actually enjoy and are worthwhile.

A couple games (actually, all sports games) were games I borrowed half for the achievements and half for fun. The only other 1000's I have I think are on Bioshock and Crash of the Titans, two games I love. Rockband and Guitar Hero ones are fun to work at and get you better, so I work for those.

I don't play games to beat them or for achievments, i play to have fun.

Achievments for me are something to try and go for if i have absolutely nothing better to do and i'm getting bored with my 360, cause regardless of how useless i know they are, it is rewarding to get some of the tougher ones.
