Do you prefer the old or new Xbox 360 Dashboard?

After watching the Microsoft E3 Event, I was amazed at the new Dashboard. I find it sleek, fresh 'n new, and well integrated into the Live system. The new Guide also looks amazing. Which do you prefer (comments with your answer are welcome)?

Older. I think it ripped off the PSN look, which I already didn't have a strong preference toward. But thats not to say I didn't like the new features.

EDIT: If I had my way, I would have made something that just updated the bar dashboard, which I already felt captured the aesthetic essence of the 360.

avatars are the gayest thing to be on the 360 so far. hands downstrokersmoker07

For myself, both in style and function, I prefer the new Dashboard. It seems less cluttered, and from what I can tell, it'll minimize or completely rid of the annoying shortcuts/advertisement which I never use. I'm partial to sleek, striaght-cut designs, which the current Dashboard lacks.

As for the features of the new update (along with the visual upgrade), I find it amazing. The party concept of sharing pictures, movies (Netflix), and Primetime, is a long-awaited feature for me. Here's hoping I can share my music with my friends as well, which would completely rock!

I agree whit you! Look, If we can still use themes to change the colors and minor things like that, I don't see the problem but plain grey like in the Press Con is not verry cool

i like the old look better: for one I like gamerpics better than gay avatars, 2 MS BETTER GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK far all the gamerpics and themes I paid for!

I also likek the old look cause you can have themes (not saying the new wont) ill miss my gears theme =(

i can't really say for sure whether i prefer the new dashboard considering i havnt actually used it but it does look like it has some great improvements. I cant decide whether to be excited about the new avatars or just plain incredulous at how blatantly they copied nintendos miis. If it really loads faster ill definetly prefer it to the old one. I frequently have problems with the loading of the current one. I do agree that there needs to be a little more color, and hopefully they can implement some custimization outside of the avatar.mute9dude

Thats a other thing, the avatars are plain stupid (Sorry for anyone who likes them, I am not trying to get myself a GS warning!). It's a total copy of the mii's whit more closhes options...!!!!!! come on!

I would rather have faster download times on Marketplace that are 600 MB or above than to have avatars. Downloading things takes forever. Have you just tried downloading the Too Human demo?JDWolfie

Too Human took me 10 minutes, for a 1gig demo that's not so bad :P

If its faster than the dashboard then I'm already sold on it.

One thing no one seems to mention though is about the dashboard themes? I've only ever purchased one but MS can hardly refund theme purchases.

Agreed, but instead you should ask if they will still be offering theme like downloads or will we all have the same grey interface...! ( I hope MS didin't f*** everything up whit this..)

Not for me. I can dl a 600mb file in less than 10 min. The battlefield demo only took me around 40 min to dl and that was 1.5 gigs!

The new one looks like it's going to SUCK. I don't want to have some super gay "Avatar." I want the my manly gamerpic of Ryu Hayabusa. Now the dashboard looks completely childish. Whatever happened to the manliness of the Xbox? The current (old) dashboard has scrolling BLADES and just had manliness written all over it. This one has AVATARS that will probably bob up and down like happy little fruitcakes. I hate this. Damn it, I wish every game company would stop trying to appeal to stupid little kids and casual gamers. I swear, 10 years from now, every game will probably be shallow and have no substance at all because all it is is another dumbed-down mainstream entity. It's been turning into that for the past few years. Ugh.Champ721

I get what you mean. I'd rather have all the new features and stuff to be without the Avatar/Mii thing, and I'm sure they'll let you decide whether or not to use it (how can they force everyone?).

But, overall, I still like the new one.

QFT, though I don't think manliness is the right word. But I do feel as if Microsoft is forgetting who bought their xbox and what they bought it for. Sometimes not all people want to express themselves, I want to keep my Master Chief picture.

I think the new one is ugly but hey, we got 8 player chat so now its all good.

Ill get used to it. Although I do like the new Guide button function.

Of course you can change the backround -- I mean come on.. Thats a big part of the dashboard now!

Its a very CLEAN CUT, stylish looking dashboard.

The only thing you dont like is the avatars, WELL DONT USE THEM THEN! There not Mii's .. They managed to make the

avatars look very stylish and sleek and not look overly childish.

Everything will work out in the end!

if you can id like it a lil more but i still perfer the old, but that may be just because i havent used it yet.

I'm not all that amazed by the new dashboard. The main reason is it looks like MS stole ideas from the other consoles. The avatar idea is the same as the Wii's "Mii" system. Also the new main guide page looks like the PS3 guide and it ain't that pretty. I liked the old dashboard it was different from the rest and it was sleek and seemed appropriate for the 360.

Also a lot of the new features don't affect people who, like myself, don't have have xbl.

We'll just have to wait and see though.
