I thought Fallout 3 was excellent, for the type of game it is. Sure, it has it's issues like any other game. There are some quests that are given without even a hint of where to start looking, the combat was a little rough and could have been polished a little bit more, the enemies sometimes appeared out of nowhere, and other problems, but all in all, it was an excellent game. Bethesda is known for the games with complete free-roam style of play, with the Elder Scrolls series under it's belt. No other company produces games with the complete open-ended vastness as Bethesda and I enjoyed the post-apocalyptic world they created. Some of the quests were entertaining, if not just funny, such as the "Nuka-Cola Challenge" quest and some of the funny dialogues. I enjoyed the man in Rivet City who wants you to obtain the Declaration of Independence, the enemies were interesting, and places such as Vault 112 (and the quest within it), Megaton, the Citadel, and others were made well. In the end, it all comes down to people's play styles and the genres of games they enjoy. Some will enjoy this game greatly, some will hate it, and all the others who fall somewhere in between.

I personally thought Fallout 3 was a bit boring and repetative. It does nothing to compare to Oblivion.

I'd rate Fallout 3 as among the best games I have played. It's graphically beautiful, it keeps true to the original material and sense of humor all the while keeping the grit and gore. The roleplay has been toned down, but it's as deep as anything on consoles. It's much more truly open of a world than many games that simply have large maps. The game scales well for the level you're at, and you can go virtually anywhere at any time so there is little 'path' to follow. I'm not a hardcore gamer, so Fallout is also great for the casual gamer. One that may not drop 10 strait hours into it, isn't obsessed with racking up achievements or beating the game in record time. It's a game you can simply immerse yourself in the world for awhile.

i loved it. almost everything about it. The atmosphere, the weapons, characters, quests, and the main storyline. My one problem with it is the fps controls, vats is fine but the free aim is horrible. Fix that and a couple graphical hitches and it would be an A+. But its an A-.

p.s. u can blow up a town with a nuke. Plz name one other game where you can voluntarily do that.

That problem lessens somewhat if/when using melee or unarmed attacks and weapons. You might consider trying that if your character is suited for the task (high Strength/Endurance) or if you don't mind making another character.
