well kinda but i have school durign september obviously but i guess it's better than learning how to get good at the game over winter break or thanksgiving break
The longer the wait = better game_synapsid_Exactly what i said. i kinda wanna wait until early 2008. i want the BEST game ever, not a rushed game. H3 is something that i would like to be able to play for years on end and not get bored. AKA BUNGIE TAKE YOUR TIME PLEEEEEEASE!
for those tbhat have been paying attention following the development cycle of halo 3 everyone would know that
*all the content for the game is done! it was said in the bungie weekly update last week when they had to show the ratings board all the game content for the game to be properly rated, all that needs to be done is bug fixes, game tweeks and graphical upgrades to be put in place instead of placeholder items.
* The bungie team is double the team that worked on halo 2 and they have had alot more time to properly work on halo 3 and by that i mean they properly planned out everything instead of them digging themselves into a hole and having to do 16 hour days at the end just to get the game done in time.
* Halo 3 is getting enormous publicity it is being mentioned everywhere in tv,radio, newpapers, ads already the game comes out in 4 months!
* Bungie simply doesnt look at other developers as competition they all praise the competition because they know the more good quality games the better. GTA 4 looks to be awesome and will sell alot but in no way do they see gta 4 as competition.
*finally If the game is coming in on time and everything is in place to do a big launch on september 25 why wait?
Everybody is saying Halo 3 is coming to counter sony's good games.Hmm what good games? Warhawk please MGS4 yea that series died at Sons of liberty and who wants to play as old man snake? And most people play GTA to just kill people and wreck the cars fro a couple hours then they get bored with it.Halo is a game that gets better everytime you play it.Its addicting and most people here know what im talking about.Halo 3 is going to be more of the awesome addicting action that we have been craving.bboycookie2
just to add to what you said halo is to xbox what metal gear solid is to sony it is one of the top tier franchises and as it looks at the moment mgs 4 looks awesome and if you pay attention to the story before saying of old man snake hes been in around 6-7 games so story wise i'd say hed have get along sometime it makes sense for the character to age, look at sam fisher form splinter cell game 5 coming up and the chracter evolves.
And a funny note on warhawk not to start a debate or fanboyism (im a gamer above everything) but i feel this is the prime example of a game being rushed first they showed a cgi video then a year later reveal a version that is 1/100th quality with quickly tacked on controls and now recently its been announced they have completely dropped the single player portion of warhawk its now online only 32 player games. Now come on 32 players sounds awesome but its almost impossible to get games with 32 people in them once let alone consistantly
Im not talking about giving bungie more time to work on the game, but to promote it. since E3 was trashed, bungie didnt have the chance to give halo3 a great showing. sony would most likely steal the show at TGS by releasing info on PShome and MGS4.. which leaves microsoft with nothing. my point is..why not delay the game untill nov and show off the game at this years X7? lawlessx
Are you seriously on crack? No offense..but the biggest news for this past month has been the halo 3 beta. It's not even the full game and people are going nuts to try and play it. MGS4...I have to say I have a feelign it won't ship this year. Also, mgs3 online was shut down after 8 motnhes cause no plays it, halo 2 just had new maps released and the game is 4 years old. People still play it. And home...ya. That's not overshadowing...anything.
dont under estimate microsoft they have a great line up coming out in fall.

Take a moment while I silence my gun!!!
MS is definitely doing the right thing if the game is ready, (which it will be), by coming out in September. It will not be rushed or mostly done it will be COMPLETE. It is the last game of a trilogy and the first on this next-gen system, not to mention it is "kind of" a huge game (sarcasm) so there will not be anything to worry about with this game coming out unless anyone dislikes FPS. Also, the release date has been known at Bungie months before they announced it. The hype is already here and there is no need to delay it.Â
I agree with the TC's first comments. Also, by releasing it in November, they could sell even more because parents would buy it for their kids because it would be selling extremely well in one month, and many kids would want it for Christmas.X360NowPS3Later
Most parents are going to buy it for their kids anyway if Halo 3 is that big on their wish list not because it is selling well. By coming out earlier it is better because not everyone is going to be a kid needing their parents to buy it for them. Besides the fact a lot of "Big Name" games are coming out, it gives people that breather before the holidays and bigger bills coming in and spaces more titles out to give them overall better sales. As for the adults buying the game for themselves, it gives them time to buy more games and not be as crunched later. Halo 3 which ever way you slice it is going to sell GI-NORMAS-LY!!!
It's a win-win situation.
it may be the smartest thing they've dont in quite a while. there are some big games comming out this year, gta4, ut3, halflife orange, and others. halo3 will now be the first out. it wont be should i get hal3 or the other game, it will be should i get halo3 or wait. waiting sux. the answer will be get halo now and the other later. and the other consoles have nothing to compete with halo at that time. when the multi platforms hit you'll be able to get them on the 360 and halo. the hype is gonna sell consoles.Â
but the best part is the timeing if i'm right. releasing it in sept will give halo3 time to sell consoles at the current price, then in nov i think ms will announce a price cut, a double whammy to dominate christmas sales. that would sell millions of consoles, increasing the user base. the 360 already has the most million selling titles and a larger base will mean even more platinum titles. 3rd party has noticed. want to play assins creed, dmc4, ut3 on the 360? well you can because the developers and publishers are going where the money is. dominating christmas thios year would almost garentee the 360 every major 3rd party title next year, even final fantasy.
