Halo 4 or another first person shooter by the makers within the 360s life.

I think Halo 3 is going to be the single best moment on the 360 with a great story mode to play alone and then a co-op mode to play with someone, then a mulitplayer that will last years. I think the time they spend on the game will make up for some of the things people didn't like about the second one. Im not the biggest halo fan and im not good at the games much but i can't see past this game for a truly next generation experience.

There will be another Halo game, sure. Just not with the Master Chief - Bungie have said that his stroyline is a three game arc.

It'd be cool to see a Halo with the protagonist as one of the regular soldiers, fighting alongside the Spartans. Or even one seen wholly from the Covernant or Forerunner's point of view.

And besides, there's Peter Jackson's mystery project (as mentioned), and Halo Wars as well.

No, they said they'd drag it out longer because it's obviously a successful franchise. They said it was a trilogy BEFORE it go so enormous. It's like Gears Of War... game got popular and now they're banking on a trilogy. If Gears 2 is a phenomenal success, that 3 games get's stretched out to as many games as they can squeeze out in as little time.
