I see people on live with very high gamerscores and I sometimes wonder how it got that high. When I play a game, I usually end it, go back, and do some sidequests but some achievements require you to end the game on higher difficulty settings and such and most of the time I don't do those. Sometimes, the game is just too boring and time consuming for me to play again and some games are just really long. Also, a lot of the games have achievements like opening all treasures or finding all of a certain item and it makes them really easy to miss out on and you almost always need a walkthrough.

But I usually only get about 500-700 of the 1000 achievement points because I don't like having to repeat everything and some of them are too time consuming for a measly30(G) andan achievement and I have to go out of my way.I don't like spending so much time on a game which is getting repetitive when I could be playing another. I see these people with really high gamerscores and all and it makes me wonder if most people unlock all or most of the achievements in a game.

Do you usually unlock all or most of the achievements in a game and go out of your way to do so?

No, I do not have the time or patience to do that

I complete the game and then I maybe do a few fun things that may or may not get me an achievement and then I move onto the next game.

i usually look over the achievements before i play the game to get an idea of what some of the crazier ones are so i know to do them when i can but i usually get 600 - 800 score on most games only playing through once sometimes twice.

I normally unlock them all or as many as I can but usually get bored before I get them all. I have too many games to just play one for the time required for 1000G.

The number that I unlock is based on my enjoyment of the game and whether the achievements require me to do crappy aspects of the game or fun aspects of the game.

most games (atleast the good ones) dont give anything away in achievements or they make all the ones having to do with story secret.

If it is a game I like, I usually make an honest effort to get as many as I can. Outside of that, I usually don't bother going for the more difficult ones.

It really depends on the game and how much I like it, I beat the heck out of FABLE I and when FABLE II came out I did the same so I ended up with all of the achievements and then all of the ones from the DLC when I got them. other games though I cant see myself putting in all he time for it most online multiplayer achievements are a joke because most online play is a joke. I think what really motivates me is wanting to beat my friends score in a game but at the same time the 'friend' I'm referring too mostly buys games at random and hardly plays them so I beat his score on them just to get him to play them more to try to beat me, lol it hardly works though "World of Warcrack" has him now XD.

Rent games, play games on their hardest difficulty your first try, then if you have time do some other stuff.

I am almost done with Assassans Creed 2's achevments, I only have two left, finding all those stupid feathers and show your colors, AHHHHH, I just want 30 feathers is that so much to ask?

I was really O.C.D. about it at first, until I realized gamerpoints are totally worthless. Now, it's whatever I can get on a first playthrough. I'd rather spend my time playing new games.

Depends on how difficult it is to earn the achievements in a game, if I like it and if what I'm playing is something I own or if i'm renting/borrowing it. Most of the time I can at least manage to get half the achievements in most games I play.

Depends on the game, I don't strive for the incredibly hard achievements but if it takes 2-3 playthroughs to get some easier ones, I'll do it.

Totally depends on the game. When I first put a game in I take a look at the achievements and be on the lookout for them on my way through. If I really like the game I'll go back and get more, maybe all. On the other end I have stuff like Ridge Racer, and Just Cause that I couldn't even stand playing so I have like 15 achievement points on them.

Yeah games like Mass Effect 2 don't give anything away. I just browse them. Usually the first achievements lister are the story related ones. Go about halfway through and find the "get 15 headshot" style ones.

This is my approach as well.If they are reasonable I will try to get them all but some of the collection achievements are just plain ridiculous:evil:

I didn't when I was gaming on the x-box but im very competitive and when my friend started getting platinums on the ps3 I started trying for them all just to beat him (Mostly because it was so easy in that lawout for people to see he had more, and we just cant have him ahead of me)

Usually when I finish the game i'm playing from start to finish, I'll play it for a little while longer if it has side missions I skipped or additional parts after the ending, I don't purposely go for achievements tho. Maybe if Microsoft did a system where say you do a certain achievement you got some MS points for doing it. Example: 5 Gamerscore achievement could workout to be 25 MS points. But their too dam greedy to do that and some people hack achievements or glitch them.

It's usually proportional to how much time I have to play the game and how much I like the game.

If I really get into a game, yes. I used to try to get them all on every game, but that becomes impossible with these that are online-only; usually by the time I'm fully done with the offline portion and am ready to tackle on the online-only achievements, most of the community has since moved on, and thus I end up having a hard time finding someone to play with to get said achievements and finish things out.

When I start playing a new game, I always check out the achievements before I start. On the first playthrough, I do some achievements that can or must be done on one full playthrough. Then, after finishing the game, I either start a new game, or do achievements on free roam when possible, like in Assassin's Creed. Now that I think about it, I haven't cleared all the achievements in any game yet. Enchanted Arms isn't that difficult though, just beat the game :P

Depends on the game. If I really like it, I will spend more time on it. Like Fallout 3, I have that almost complete, and I have the hard ones (Steel ingots, and Bobble heads).

I go after as many achievements I can get after I beat the game a certain amount of time I've beaten. It gives me a reason to keep playing the game.

No, I don't. If I do happen to get most of the points in a game I would have no gone out of my way. Usually it will have just happened from me playing the game so much.
