Maybe a problem with dirty lens? Or game disk?

My 360 started freezing on me constantly right before I got the Red light of Death. The pixelation thing though is new to me though.

The RROD is imminent. Prepare to call 1-800-4MY-XBOX for a replacement.

try cleaning it out. looks like the gpu is overheating but hasn't quite burned out yet. you don't keep it near the floor where a lot of dust can get inside of it do you? i see this a lot hen people bring in their computers to be fixed. they typically burn out their video card due to lack of ventilation, usually caused by piles of dust. if you do send it to microsoft, i'd wait for the full blown RROD. at least that's warrantied for 3 years.

Trade in your Xbox 360 while it still works for another Xbox 360.

i had that same exact problem with my first 360. Fortunatly for me I had a 2 year extended warranty on my 360 from Best Buy. I took it into best buy and they gave me a new one. I asked if i could put the hard drive from the broken 360 to the new one they were giving me, and so I did. I took it home and in about 10 mins I had the same exact problem so I went back and just took the new hard drive. if i'm not mistaken, your hard drive is faulty.

so a quick update... i played madden for about 20 minutes but it froze so i decided to take the hard drive out. Without the hard drive it lasted 2 minutes and did that glitch again.

That happened to me too. I upgraded to the 120GB drive and I could transfer over all my files and the new drive worked fine. But I don't know what the problem is, don't count on a new HD helping.
