Well, my 360 recently broke, (RRoD) and I was wondering does GS buy the broken consoles? And if they do, how much do they pay?
I want to upgrade to an elite thats why Im considering selling the broken one and not sending it in to MS.

Why wouldppl buy broken 360's on ebay?? Airsoul
Some problems are actually fixable. And if you fix it yourself, buying one on ebay then fixing it costs much less than a 360 at retail. Some people also buy to fix and then resale to make a profit
I know bout ebay, but selling it to EBgames would be much less of a hassle, even though I would get ripped off.
If I bought a broken one on ebay, I would personally just return to Microsoft and get a new or refurbished one. Are you allowed to do that...?

No, because you weren't the original buyer. After thinking, your best bet would be too get your 360 fixed, then sell it on Ebay. Takes longer, but you can get more money.

Pretty sure you need a receipt. If you can get the seller to send you the original receipt with the broken console, you should be fine

Quick Question. How would M$ know you aren't the original buyer? And I remember Peter More or someone at M$ saying that it applies to anyone who the owner sells it to.[QUOTE="Shrapnel99"][QUOTE="Dean777V"]If I bought a broken one on ebay, I would personally just return to Microsoft and get a new or refurbished one. you dont need a reciept all you have to have is the correct information of the original owner
its actually pretty easy to get by some of the information needed and what not, i mean i told them that my 360 got the red rings of death, but the only actual problem was that it was overheating every time i turned it on, and since i was out of warranty for that kind of repair i lied and said it died, so they sent me a whole new oneqmoney88
What if you buy a manufactured refurbished one. Do you need all the stuff, or are you considered to be the first owner?

you don't need a reciept there's a serial number on the back of the console that proves where you got it and all that stuff. that being said i can't imagine why they wouldn't let you exchange it i mean what if you just told them your friend gave it to you?
