[QUOTE="V4LENT1NE"]Not to be a pain but why are all the threads you make nothing to really do with 360, everyone you have made has been about do video games effect this or why did you pick this company? Sounds like a marketing guy to me...........Dogmatic923
if you don't like my topics then why do you read them and even one else?

I didnt say I didnt like them, I just said that they never really seem to have anything to do with 360, more like gaming in general.

Hitler said it.
Are you joking, by the way? If not, I'm sorry but you're a massive -- MASSIVE -- tool. GRAW is set in the future, with future weapons. Advanced Warfighter...not: Reality Simulator.
Dude please grow up before GTA4 comes out!

if you can be that easily influenced by something you need to get your head checked, especially if you're married.

its an interesting thought, most logical people would look at games, be able to see the differance between the game and how real life combat would be, and leave it at that. some people however, play these games, get so caught up in it that they decide they want the real thing, and get into serious trouble when the poop hits the paddles. i myself have seriously thought about joining the military, now yes i play games, and yes i enjoy war games etc. but after serious thought, there isnt really much else i want to do with my life at this stage, i know its a dumb decision, and ive got another 2 years to think it over before i decide if i want to do that or go to uni.

Nope. I play many military-themed shooters, and I have zero interest in joining the Armed Forces.

Machine guns can fire 5 bullets + a secound, imagine being pinned down by 10 people with automatic machine guns. This is not Vegas, 1 bullet, YOU ARE DEAD! You see, being shot in the leg, they will kill you as no escape, arm, can't fire a gun.

And I don't wanna kill people....

Not hardly, because while I love to PLAY war based GAMES, I really do not particularly enjoy the thought of being stuck on the other side of the planet for God knows how long, sleeping in the sand with nothing around you but 1000's of other swinging d!cks, while bullets and RPG 'S are whizzing by on a daily and nightly basis. Not to mention that if you live long enough, you will get to see many of your fellow soldiers get splattered all over the place by car bombs. And if you are really, really lucky....you might even get to lose a limb or two yourself, hey....maybe even die! Sounds like a real blast, aye?

All this for what? For some greedy, narrow minded war monger's oil agenda that he calls "the war on terror", that's what. So nah, I think that I will just stick to PLAYING THE GAMES....that way nobody, including innocent civilians, my friends or myself get killed for some corrupt leaders insane ideology.

I am a Major in the U.S. Air Force and have been on active duty for 13 years.

No, playing FPS's didn't make me want to join the military - service to my country, being part of a great "fraternity" of others in the service, leadership opportunities, great benefits, and retirement at age 43 all made me want to join the military.

Anyone who would go out and join the military based on games like Rainbow Six, GRAW, etc. would be in for a huge wake-up call when they went off to boot camp.  The small percentage of servicemen and women who actually DO put themselves in harms way and "come close" to experiencing anything near what you see in these games will tell you that these games are laughable at how they depict conflict, tactics, etc.

Still, these games are great fun for what they are, but should not be used as an example of military service.

i think it shows me the horrible things that happen to people in war and therefore encourages me to NOT join. paullywog
Yeah, pretty much makes me really glad I'm holding a controller and not a real rifle. I admire what our troops do above anything, its just a shame that we have to resort to wars at all and that troops are even needed.

I hope nobody is fool enough to think of war videogames as being a realistic rendition of what war really is and how it is fought! That kind of remembers me about those "Join the Army" ads where you see parachutists jumping out of an airplane and having fun and stuff. What it tells me is "Oh man! If you join us in the army, you're going to parachute! How cool is that?". When in reality, if you're a soldier and you're being parachuted, you'll be risking your life minutes or hours later.

No offence but what is so "cool" about the army? Don't you think that thinking of the army as being "cool" is kinda derivative?
