that's ridiculous. You'd think a big company like best buy wouldn't dare screw over things like that...absolutely no integrity. Sucks for you but thanks for the heads up.
You should definitely send a letter to headquarters/top management about your situation and see how they'll respond to this
I've had this happen to me as well and will never ever buy the PRP which is a waste of money if you ask me when I could just send it to Microsoft for free... I was told it doesn't take that long anyway till Microsoft ships a new one back so I wouldn't waste your money. They make it sound like a walk in the park when you buy on but when it comes to returning they'll give you hell before getting one..
when you get issues with companies like this you need to be polite yet forceful. If the person infront of you cant help ask for their superior and If they cant help ask for their superior, and so on. If you are rude the person helping you will shut down, treat them with respect and you may be surprised how much you can get acheived.
