Dragon Age and Borderlands come out on same date: Which one will you get?

Both games will release on MY BIRTHDAY October 20 lol. Which one will you be getting first? For me personally, I plan to get both eventually, but Borderlands will be a day 1 purchase since I want to play it while it still has a strong online community, and I absolutely LOVE any form of online co-op. I'll probably get Dragon Age eventually since it IS a Bioware game after all, but I see no rush since there's no online multiplayer on it. How about you?

I've been dying to play a great WRPG since Mass Effect so I am definitely getting Dragon Age first but I will be getting Borderlands whenever I get more money.

Probably Dragon Age first mainly because my friends will still be whoring over frickinCall of Duty 4's multiplayer and then whoring on CoD4MW2 when it comes out, so no one is going to buy Borderlands on my friends list but myself.

I'm going to buy Borderlands first, then probably get Dragon Age later on when it is cheaper.

I'm getting both. But Im getting Borderlands first, since it comes out first so i can pick up my pre-order before Dragon Age.

I would have gotten BL for sure (maybe GOTY) if they came out on the same day. I'll be getting both but Dragon Age will have to wait.

As much as I hate to admit it, I highly doubt Borderlands will get GotY from many. Many will give it to Call of Duty: Bland Repetitive Multiplayer 2. Personally, I'd love to give Borderlands GotY, and I probably will(if Dragon Age: Origins doesn't come up with something to beat it, then it'll have to settle for runner-up.

Yep, you're probably right but a few critics might reward BL for being a new, innovative, different IP going against nothing but sequels if the metacritic is good. Batman: Arkham Asylum, with it's great scores, might have MW2 beat already and it'll be tough for BL to top. BL might not win everbodies GOTY award, but critics seem hyped about it, so it might win a few.

not planning on picking up either Launch day, between Forza 3 and MW2 i'm pretty much strapped for cash this holiday season, times being what they are. but If I had to pick one, it'd be borderlands.

Oh i whole heartedly agree with you, whatever criticismsi have against it, there's always that voice in the back of my mind saying 'Its made by Bioware..'

The thing is i really want to like it aswell, i mean Bioware + Dragons, can you get anymore epic! Theres just something about that don't appeal to me. But theres no doubt i'll try it sometime, it's just on this particular date, Borderland get my favour.

Borderlands doesn't seem like my kind of game, and I can't wait for dragon age, so Dragon age is my choice :P

Dragon Age origins I am a BIT skeptical of, i know it's blasphemy and Bioware has never dissapointed, but I feel it is too focused on content to deliver the true narrative RPG experience.

I thought the same thing when I saw gameplay footage of Oblivion a while back. I dont think gameplay footage really captures what an RPG like that is about.

I'm not getting either for a while, at least, but I think if I was going to pick, I'd at least wait for reviews to help me decide. Both are new IP's and both have the potential to have flaws that wont be apparent in any gameplay footage you see online.

Both games also have the potential to be great, what game doesn't have flaws? If you're too timid to give a new IP a chance and have to buy sequels just wait for DAO 2 and BL 2. There will be plenty of sequels to play in the meantime, every other game coming out is a reproduced, reworked sequel. If you're only willing to buy a game that is almost the same as an old game you've played with a few improvements then there are plenty games out there for you.

What do people see in BL? It's an open world shooter/rpg with tons of loot, 100 hours per play through, co-op, and it's coming from good devs.

I am gonna wait on the review for Borderlands. I'm not sold with what I have seen.
