That would be nice if it would be possible to take out someone in a warthog or ghost with the sword. There would have to be skill and a little luck involved though. It wouldn't have to be easy, but possible. Imagine some one charging at you with a warthog and at the last second you jump up and slice his head off with the sword. He would have to leave the game out of embarrassment. Someone participating in the beta make that suggestion.
Well, if you watch closely during the "Et Tu Brute?" vidoc, you can see a Elite weilding two plasma swords killing a Brute. Considering that, I would have to say yes.
no you can not, in the brute vid doc there was just an elite holding 2 swords, so ppl speculated weather or not you cold hold 2, but bungie said you would not be able to in a weekly update.

Two conflicting reviews on the meaning of the dual-wielded plasma swords in the 'Et tu, Brute?' vidoc... shocking. I don't think the player will be able to do it because it seems kind of pointless, but it's pretty obvious someone in the game will be doing it.Â
well if you are able to dual wield swords, then obviously the swords will be weaker in halo 3 compared to halo 2 becasue dual wielding with the swords from halo 2 would totally be over kill.
They are instant kills, and it would be pointless, but why not? Just think of all the little fanboys screaming in pain as you can say "HAHA I killed you with two swords!!!!"
As Bessy said, even though you don't need to dual weild two swords, a sword and an SMG/Pistol/PlasmaRifle would be really cool (despite overpowering).Â
They showed off an animation of an elite cutting off a brute's legs with one sword, then stabbing him through the chest with another. That could just be a cool set-piece however, rather than an indication that you can wield two. That, and having two on the screen would look stupid. It's not like you can do anything with them other than a little swooshing motion anyway.
couldnt they implement combo moves or "fatalities"? or say there are two enemies in close proximity to each other, instant kill both with dual swords... that would be so cool.

I don't think that it would make any sense. You get close enough and one press on the button and instant death fallows. So why 2 swords if one is powerful enough:?:question: I mean you can't take out more targets with two swords.Â
