dw-40 on xbox 360 controller?

lol this is probably an incredibly stupid question but i was wondering if i could spray dw-40 on my analog sticks. they are getting kinda squeaky and stiff and it makes it really difficult to aim in twitch shooter like bf:bc or mw2. anyone know of any methods to make my analog sticks move smoother without ruining the controller? thanks

go to auto zone or some type of automotive place and get a small packet of light bulb grease i use it on lots of electronics

yeah thats what i meant haha. actually i just looked it up and wd-40 is the worst thing you can use on electronics because it's oil-based or something like that. anyone else have any suggestions?fdsfgs
