So if the elite has upscaling capabilities right out of the box does anybody know if the other versions of xbox will get an update for it or something.

All of the 360s have upscaling capabilities.  The 360 just has an HDMI to deliver the quality signal differently.

yup all versions will be able to upscale it isnt just exclusive to the elite
