Elite RROD

I was playing Halo3 online and all of the sudden it froze for ages, I couldn't be bothered waiting so I turned it off, waited a few seconds and turned it on. WTF Red lights in Q1, 3 and 4. I couldn't believe what I was seeing, I instantly pushed the power button and for unknowns reasons wouldn't turn off, so I switched it off at the wall. I wait and then turn it on. This was about 2 days ago and I've played it for a few hours since and its fine. Whats up with that? (I also posted about my Elite getting a red ring in Q4) What should I do?

Does it just stop working all together because I really don't want to send it away until I really have to?GameMasterCraig

well u can try the towel trick. u unplug ur hard drive, get the disc out, unplug tv cords just have power supply.... get 3 towels and wrap them. turn on ur 360 and let it sit there for like 30min or until it shuts down. let it sit for another 30min to let it cool it should work.

this will last u about a week or less.

try turning it on again and if it dont work call microsoft 1-800-4MYXBOX and demand a new xbox. Same thing happend to me and my bro it worked with my brother because he had only had his xbox for 1 month before getting the red ring of death. since it was such a small amount of time they agreed well almost

I've got a 5 year warranty at DSE (Dick Smith Electronics), should I take it to them and get them to give me a new one or just go straight to Microsoft?GameMasterCraig

It would be much easier to use your warranty to get a new console.
