EPIC Games ....

Who here are EPIC fans ? And support the games they have made over the years they have some of the craziest games out there . they brought chainsaw bayonet's and Curb stomping to gaming and for those reason i Love them as Developers . also they have one of the most immpresive engines that most of our favorite games are made from . games like :

Bulletstorm

Borderland's and many many more Utilize this Engine for its power and Capability to bring Universes alive . with the newest engine on its way the Unreal 4 engine on the way Exclusively for next Gen consoles and PC We will see even more Beautiful games from EPIC .

Do you guys respect what they have done ? i mean you dont have to like their games , but to make a engine that is so widely used it must mean they are doing something right . whats your favorite game made by the Unreal Engine ?

Mark Rein, the vice-president of Epic Games, revealed on August 18, 2005 that Unreal Engine 4 had been in development since 2003.The engine targets the next generation of PC hardware and consoles afterThe Seventh generation. The only person to work on the Unreal Engine 4 core system design so far is Tim Sweeney, technical director and founder ofEpic Games.However, at the 2006GDC, Tim Sweeney stated that development would not begin in earnest on the next version until some time in 2008. Sweeney has also predicted that the number of developers would be ramped up to three or four engineers by the end of 2008, and would be aimed predominantly at the next generation consoles rather than PCs.Tim gave a speech at POPL06 sharing some of his thoughts on programming.However, it was later confirmed by Mark Rein, the vice president of Epic Games that Unreal Engine 4 was coming to PC first. Mark Rein also clarified what Tim Sweeney meant. "When Tim Sweeney was talking about Unreal Engine 4 ... he mentioned something along the lines of it being exclusively for the next generation of consoles… what he meant was, it won't run on this generation of consoles." Due to the engine's focus on next generation consoles, Michael Capps, President of Epic Games, indicated that the engine should be ready around 2012.

I thought the first Gears was good, second was just ok. Shadow Complex was just average, nothing special compared to games like Castlevania and Metroid. I thought that the new Unreal was bad.

Chainsaw guns aren't that hard to come up with, all you really have to do is look at a Warhammer 40,000 Space Marine sometime in the last 20 years.

I think they are ok. When I hear they are behind something it doesn't make me think anything bad or good about it.

It is pretty amazing what one company has been able to bring to the video game world. It's a shame theirdesign directoris an annoying tool.

They didnt make those games there Engine was Just used this isnt a this game is better thread .gears of war does a good job of utilizing the Soft body Physics it is capable of

I am still ticked about how Epic shoved Unreal Tournament 3 under a rug for the 360 and left it there. They also took out a lot of junk as well as added some too Gears of War 2 (that game hates me...I swear).

While Epic did create the unreal engine I still would not give them that much credit for games like Bioshock and Batman: Arkham Asylum which use the engine. Thats like giving credit to the manufacturer of paper rather than the author of a book.

Anyway, I do like Epic. Or at least I do based on the Gears of War games and they do interact with their fanbase frequently which I like.. I never really got into Unreal Tournament but I do think they are good games. And my favorite game using the Unreal engine is probably the original Gears of War.

i will forever think of bioshock as one of my favorite games ever. surely i'm biased because it was my first 360 game and i'm more ofa sp person, but i just loved that game. granted, it's not using the engine to it's full extent, but i love the game and I love what they've been doing. i'm really excited for bulletstorm, but i have almost all the games you mentioned. as long as good games keep comin out, i'm happy :)

It's terrible for Mass Effect. It's glitchy, tons of pop in, and it just doesn't work for Mass Effect to me. Also while it loads it lags the game. It works fine for every other game for some reason though.

Only game that i even like on there is mass effect series...and it would have been better on a different engine.
