I'm buying it. :D Blue Dragon is amazing and they pooped all over that too. The music, cel shaded visuals, and environments are just gorgeous in Eternal Sonata. To hell with reviewers.;)BioShockOwnz
Yeah, What he said. DOWN WITH REVIEWERS!! BWAHAHAHA!

Amen, if western media sites dont like japan games just because they dont appeal to them they should stop reviewing them all together. I am only going to listen to Japanese reviews of these types of games because they usually like the gener.
lol, I was hoping for a good JRPG soon, it looks like the wait will continue for me at least. It is a shame, I thought maybe the almost real time combat along with shadow/light effects on powers would be something new and refreshing. Looks like I may be wrong :)

Yes! Seriously though I trust their scores and anything less than an 8 isn't worth my time unless I'm really interested in it. If we were in a gaming drought I may consider something with low scores but now isn't the time. So many stellar looking games around just around the corner and I only have so many hours to play.
What can I say, they're professional game reviewers and have kept me from wasting money countless times in the past. When this game hits the bargain bin I might reconsider.

Uhh, I just looked at your gamercard and I counted quite a few games in there that you have bought or played that are below 8.0's.....
IMO, this game can be way better, especially the character design since animated faces created by japanese people are so overrated and unpopular.http://forums.n4g.com/upfiles.aspx/1378/D95030673C30420EA7457EE125A93DA0.JPG

I'm amazed at how worked up people get about what "score" a game gets or that they let a "score" decide whether or not they buy a game.
I find the reviews themselves useful but scores next to worthless.
For example as I look at the scores that games like Eternal Sonata, Blue Dragon and Two Worlds got recently and then read the reviews what I've discovered is that these reviewers were looking for different things than I am in a game.
However, that doesn't make the information you get from these reviews worthless. Too often professional reviewers take off too many "points" because of nonsense like "lack of online play" or "not innovative enough". Two things out of many more that I could care less about if the gameplay is fun.
I tend to trust the information and even general opinions of pro-reviewers much more than, say...the bunch of sofa monkeys around here who crank out reviews for games they haven't even played and have only two scores: 1 and 10. I think that most of the big name reviewing sites have enough value to help you know if you might want to pick something up on lanuch day, wait for a used copy or even pick it out of the bargain bin in a few months.
Hopefully, mediocre reviews won't discourage more translation and importing of JRPG games and other games in "less popular" genres.
