ok people, this is a big question going on in my head from the day i heard about the official release of AC2, when i played the first one i thought Altair was an awesom character to start the game series of to, and hence that i havent played the second one i have no idea which guy is cooler, or are they equil in there 'coolness' (lol) anyway straight to the point, ive heard alot of people say AC2 is an awesome stealth game and not to mention all the praise it got from the big game reviewers, so im looking for people opinions and or reviews on AC2 (one of the biggest hits out atm) and who you like better, Altair or Ezio, or both?

p.s i already think alot of people will go with ezio playing that recently and not having played AC in a while and forgetting how awesom Altair really is, so please dont let that cloud your judgement, anyway happy posting guys!

Ezio. I've played through both games and Ezio is by far a better and more developed character. Not to mention he looks cooler too.

Altair by far. Altair had my favorite fighting system, and I know a lot of people didn't know this but you could actually use your hidden blade as a fighting weapon. It was actually quite effective, you stood in place and anytime somebody tried to attack you you would block against it and usually stab them once and they would die. I used this from the very beginning and I loved the game because of it. It's a shame that Ezio couldn't do so as well, he just seemed to prefer to unarm people, which was great, but just wasn't what I was looking for. Also, Altair had the better robes....

Now in the matter of how deep they both were... I didn't really care. It didn't really affect my caring nor understanding of the character. I didn't care about Ezio's family, nor his becoming of an assassin. Sure it was interesting to see how he changed from someone who furiously killed in the name of revenge to an assassin but the change happens almost instantly, from one kill to the next, as if he suddenly is at peace with himself, as if he just forgives his families killers or he does so because his Uncle Mario told him to.

Desmond was a very interesting character and so was Lucy, and they are completely left out of the loop on this one. You learn nothing new on them. The two new characters are also left in the dust as you get a solid ten minutes of conversation time with them. I just wish more work would've been done to actually mixing Desmond into the whole story.

That's a tough question. Well, Altair is kinda mysterious, he's really cool but I think you don't really get to know him as much as you get to know Ezio in AC2. Also Ezio has some cool weaponery, the double hidden blades and the pistol. Anyway I think that I like both of them XD

Ezio can actually use his hidden blades in Combat. The only difference is that he is able to block/deflect attacks, which Altair was not. I'm surprised that you haven't discovered this, seeing how you said it was one of your favorite features of the first game and how you discovered it early on.

And the robes thing; You can unlock Altair's robes.

Was gonna say the same as post above me. Ezio is very effective using the hidden blades in combat and Altair's robes are the best I have seen in the series (the ones you unlock in AC2)

i've unlocked Altair's robes in AC2 and it looks great i like it, but Ezio's just has so much more style n detail to it i love it, its a shame Altair's armor wasn't available to Altair in the 1st tho lol, but overall i like Altair more, but just a little bit more than Ezio

Ezio by far. I'm engaged in his story and I always want to continue finding out what happens next. Altair was too reserved.

Really!? You don't say!? You can use the hidden blades in Combat!? Wow... You've taught me so much already...

Of course I know you can use the Hidden Blades, it's the first weapon I ever used. I tried hard to use them just as I used them in the first game and I couldn't. I eventually just stopped using them and had to unarm the guards. So yeah, I much more prefer Altair's style, so he also gets my vote.

And I know you can unlock Altair's Robes... They are still Altair's robes, hence he gets the vote.

I'm going to go with Altair. In Assassin's Creed 2, *somewhat spoilers, but not really* you have the option of going through trials to get objects that will later allow you to unlock Altair's armor, thus enhancing Altair's cool factor. I don't entirely remember the story behind Altair and how he becomes an assassin, but Ezio does it rather quickly, making me like him less. I feel like if you've lived your life becoming an assassin, it's cooler than just instantly becoming one. Ezio has some nice moves though, double blades are incredibly awesome plus his armor looks better. However, Altair's armor that you unlock in ACII is just kick #@$, it's awesome, way better than Ezio's, making me like Altair even MORE. As I kept playing ACII, I kept liking Altair more and more.
